Very very happy despite one teeny tiny criticism
Item arrived very quickly and intact despite being so fragile. It works flawlessly and looks like a very high quality item. It doesn't look cheap like the other ones you see for a lesser price. You do get what you pay for.I wish there were more of a distinction between the dark sides and the shiny sides of the fins. The black isn't as deep as in the picture and the shiny sides are a bit more dull than the picture implies. But at this point I'm just splitting hairs looking for something to be critical about. The color doesn't seem to effect how it functions. It'll start spinning with surprisingly little light. A lamp has to be close for it to start moving but if I turn on my recessed lighting in my living room it starts spinning. Sunlight from the window seems to be more than sufficient though if it's overcast outside it won't quite cut it. If the manufacturer could paint the black with darker matte black and the silver side shinier it would look even more impressive from afar. But honestly I'm quite happy with how nice it looks as it is.

Outstanding Quality Radiometer
This is a well crafted Crookes Radiometer that is made in Germany. Even though the outside box was beat up a little, the glass bulb arrived intact - and fast! I received it in eight days all the way from Germany (it was supposed to take 50 days according to the tracking estimate).I've had a couple inexpensive ones before and this kills them. The vanes move with very little light - even a 10W bulb in my lamp at two feet away will make them move. And with sunlight or bright light the vanes turn rapidly with almost no wobble; the vanes are very well balanced. I'm sure it is delicate as it weighs almost nothing. You won't regret buying this radiometer if you are in the market for one.

Old World Quality, Hand Made Pride
Purchased this radiometer to replace a lesser quality one that disappeared from a garden window in my kitchen. Though this was more expensive, its appearance and quality are heads and shoulders above the cheaper generic ' toys ' commonly found for sale i most stores and online. The glass appears to be handblown and is elegant without being gaudy, and its height is just shy of 11", tall but not obtrusive. This radiometer ships directly from the manufacturer in Germany, well packaged and fairly fast; the old adage remains true here: you get what you pay for. In short, this is both highly functional in operation and truly beautiful to behold. This was given 5 stars only because I could not give it more.

Looks nice, works in dim light
Looks nice, works in dim light, but is very fragile and has a high center of gravity - - I broke mine merely by letting the cuff of my shirt touch the globe as I was turning. It imploded sending microscopic shards glass everywhere.

Very well made
I am very pleased with this product. Awesome product. Not damaged in shipping. It looks great in my home office. In fact I tried to buy another one for my brother and they were out of stock of this model. I stuck with LUPI and bought one of their other models as a gift.

I have a couple of different brands of radiometer around the house. This one is the best. It even turns on a heavily overcast day.Spins with very little light. Top quality.

Amazing and worth 10x times more than the cheaper ones.
Amazing! It got here pretty quick from Germany, packed with great care. If you want a radiometer that looks like a piece of art and runs flawlessly, then the extra $30 over the cheapy ones is a no-brainer. And no, I don't have any affiliations with this company - just super excited!

this one will make you quite happy. I remember my old cheaply made radiometer in ...
If you are looking for a quality piece, this one will make you quite happy. I remember my old cheaply made radiometer in my childhood fondly, and this is a nice upgrade. Perfectly balanced, and totally silent. When I break this one.. I'll definitely buy it again.
