I love the Janet Baskets! I use to carry my things to work. This saves my purse considerable wear and tear. I have one for work and one for shopping. I find the small basket is better for substitution as a purse but may be too small for use grocery shopping.The large Janet Basket is a great tool for keeping kids/dog things on hand. Great for overnight trips and taking to get groceries ect. It keeps it shape very well and I'm like a bulldozer with it, very well made with thick material. I've had one since late 2011 and still holding up fantastically.Cons-I do not have a lid, you may want one if carrying valuables or don't want others looking into basket.It does not fold up easily after unfolding the first time. Pay attention to how it is folded unless you like a good puzzle.The large size is about the size of the standard grocery basket but a little taller. It holds quite a bit and the handle is cushioned so its a bit easier to carry through market even if a little heavy. These are wonderful when going to outdoor markets or short trips. The small size is great but only comfortably holds equal to 2-3 plastic bags of groceries or 2 gal of milk with a small 3" space left btwn the milk jugs. The top of the jugs (about 3.5") would be above the leading edge of basket, which is not a problem I just want you to visualize the size of baskets to determine the best fit for your needs and style.

I purchased this basket to house my crochet supplies and projects, and it suits my needs perfectly. It's very deep and wide, so it would also be great for shopping or even a picnic. Love it. The fabric is a heavy canvas, and it stays open with feet on the bottom to protect it from surfaces. The color and pattern are pretty much as pictured. Not sure why this one was so much cheaper than the others of its kind, but I wasn't particular about what it looked like, only the function! The colors of blue and brown go very well with my living room décor which was just an added bonus. Couldn't be more pleased with my purchase!

This is such a cute, well made basket. The canvas-like fabric is easily sponged off, it does indeed fold flat for storing it in a car trunk or under a desk at work for those impromptu trips to the farmer's market. The bag is well balanced with a comfortable padded handle which makes carrying it home easy, whether it be on foot, public transport or a bike! It is plenty big enough to hold an average trip's worth of produce from the farmers market. I've also used it inside my house while ferrying home-canned produce from kitchen to storage room. The bag supported multiple loads-I'm talking about 10-12 pints of sliced peaches in non wide mouth jars, then 16-20 half pints of sauces. Wow, that's a lot of weight supported (albeit in a pretty short distance). So much easier than carrying jars two-by-two. The bag has so many uses that I'm now giving gifts inside of these bags-ESPECIALLY to my close friends who also eat healthy and make several produce runs in a week. I LOVE them! One star subtracted for not having a cushioned silicon type handle, but that's so minor compared to the pros!

The basket itself was very nice and sturdy, however the dimensions are misleading. The sides taper in so much that the bottom area is not that big. I was unable to use it for the purpose I purchased it.

Believe it or not, I bought 2 of these for my recycling. We had just been stacking things next to the sink for 1-3 days and then transferring them to the garage bins. I just couldn't stand to look at empty containers and unwanted mail anymore.I cleaned out a kitchen cabinet space and these two baskets just barely fit inside. Now I fill them up in 2-4 days and use the handles to carry them out to the garage.For people who might actually use them for market, they are sturdy enough to hold groceries and stand upright and stiff when open. They are made of tough nylon-like fabric in a very pretty print.Much more reasonable price than some other baskets out there.

I use my basket to carry fabric to quilting classes and retreats. It stands up quite nicely and holds a lot of goods and then will fold up easily to store. I used one as a gift basket to carry baked goods to a friend who was sick. So many tasks for such a pretty basket.

The pattern is super cute, and the basket is durable and sturdy. I use this for shopping, and also as my "overnight basket" when I stay at my boyfriend's house (I'm not a fan of duffle bags or backpacks). The zippered pocket is also nice to have for farmer's market trips. Just big enough to hold the car keys, debit card and some cash so I don't have to wrestle with a purse.
