DOA - Second try succeeded
Item was dead on arrival - would not power on.Noticed that user manual did not accurately reflect the product received - perhaps product changed without accompanying update to the manual.Build quality and packaging appeared cheap.Terk needs better product management.Item was returned to Amazon - ordered replacement for one more try at this. The replacement arrived. Packaging looked like open box product. Perhaps somebody just opened the box to test before shipping. The sticky label on top of the black plastic appeared to have been removed and reattached. No scratches or dents. The antenna powered on (the blue LED lit up). The wifi extender worked without any problems. It creates a new access point. The app guides you through the configuration with only relevant options. Wifi signal strength is very good. I would have wanted more configuration options, but most people just want the simple setup. As with any indoor antenna, physical placement is of utmost importance. For my initial test, I just placed the antenna on a piece of furniture next to the TV - no consideration for proximity to doors/windows/exterior walls. To my surprise, the TV channel setup found 51 local channels. Some of those channels were heavily pixelated, but I found more channels than my earlier test with a MOHU amplified antenna located in a window (it found 46 channels, some also with signal issues).Next, I relocated the antenna to a few more locations in the vicinity of the TV, none of them near windows/doors/external walls. In one location, I found 58 channels. In conclusion, I think the product has merit, especially in combination with wifi dependent TV boxes (Roku/Nvidia Shield/Xiaomi Mi box), where the TV displays your choice of over-the-air and internet programming. Next, I will be trying this with a Tablo device. Hopefully, I will be able to place the Terk antenna in its most favorable location, and the Tablo will work as DVR and retransmit programming to entire house using wifi.

You'll be patting yourself on the back for 20 years after you buy this!
I received my TERK antenna and WIFI extender today. It set up in seconds. This is my fifth TERK indoor antenna. Cannot say enough about how good they are. Saved me thousands of dollars a year in cable fees and allowed me to cut the cord. All my tvs have them, and they've only gotten better over the years. Cannot believe how simple today's set up was. I have not dealt with the WIFI extender yet but I can tell you the antenna WORKS. I saw the neg reviews and it prompted me to write this one so you'd know. Biggest problem is you have to have a remote to scan channels and if not, you need to download one to your phone...or buy one from Amazon, lol. Seriously, do yourself a favor and get OFF cable. FREE tv (after your TREK purchase). FREE!! AND no more having to fight with the cable company....ever again. Seriously one of the best purchase decisions in my lifetime. Good luck!

Two in one with more ups than downs
Good antenna, better signal extender and amplifier, allowing multiple devices to connect to it. Easy connect to your internet through a free app . Overall not bad . I've seen better , but for what it does at it's price point is very very good. Highly recommend

Finally an OTA HDTV antenna that will get reception in our downtown loft!
Finally an OTA HDTV antenna that will get reception in our downtown loft! I am not even using the Wi-Fi extender feature, but the antenna alone is worth the price. Our loft is small and 18 MB internet speed is the best I can get in our historic downtown loft, so extending the range is not necessary. I bought and returned 3 other antennas before finding this one. The manufacturer's website said I should get 53 channels with this antenna and I am getting 55 with it located under my TV on an interior wall. I have an older model TERK antenna on our other TV and I have to put the antenna in the window to et reception, the new model is so much better that I may buy a second.

Really easy to use
Super easy, step-by-step install. It was not difficult at all to get everything set up and working, and the signal is ridiculously strong. I have the extender in a shed about 60 feet behind my house and my phone still connects to it when I’m in the house. The picture is really clear and it was easy to get channels on my TV out there, too. I would DEFINITELY recommend this to anyone needing a signal boost, especially because in stores the cheapest extender I found was like $50. This is a steal.

Setting it up is frustrating.
It worked for a couple of days after a challenging setup process which involved a repeatedly crashing phone app. I went through the setup process (painfully) a 2nd time and it's working now. I did NOT change the network name or reset the password on the 2nd go around. Whether that makes a difference or not I cannot say.

It is great as a WiFi extender but doesn't help with getting better indoor HDTV signal. I have an RCA antenna and this picks up the HDTV signals that are weaker, whereas the Terk Trinity Xtend doesn't. But I would recommend it to stop the buffering of your WiFi signal.

Does not pick up that many regular station channels. Would rate it as just OKAY. definitely glad purchased through Amazon instead of the manufacturer (which was nearly 3x the cost). Might work better in major metro area.
