Do the colors bleed when the yarn gets wet?

This is a paper Raffia Yarn, I have used it to make a crocheted straw bag, which looked wonderful. In answer to your question I would never suggest getting paper yarn wet as it would weaken it, it would also probably become soft and slippery, so the colours bleeding would not be something that would concern me!

Can you paint it, or will it disintegrate?

If water based, it will definitely disintegrate. Probably ok for acrylic paints. I bought it to make crochet hats but failed to realize the word paper in the description so I plan to use it for gift wrapping etc.

What is the width of the ribbon?

There is some variation. I bought 4 skeins and 3 were the smaller size.
