BBC Expedition: Adventures into Undiscovered Worlds

Backshall writes with an easy, honest and self-deprecating style which makes Expedition an enjoyable romp through a series of nail-biting world-first adventures. But this book is so much more; the adventures keep you hooked, the serious environmental messages are light but needle-sharp focussed, his love for the wild and untamed obvious and his enthusiasm and joy at discovery are truly inspiring. Breathless, you are left thinking just how Steve his team do it. Read it and wonder.

For me, the best of Steve's three "adult" books.Each chapter is focussed on a particular expedition, with no backwards and forwards.Steve is very honest about his thoughts and emotions, and how hard he found some of these adventures.Enjoyed immensely

Came quickly and in good condition. The book is a really interesting addition for people who watched the series to get some extra stories and information about the places he visited. It is also a great book as a stand alone with amazing detail and great story writing as a whole!

An amazing book, i read it on a mini expedition in southern france during a week of river kayaking, whilst under the stars and with crickets the size of tennis balls and spiders the size of my hand i really felt as if i was there with him. Best book of 2019 or even ever! -Ben Nash
