I Like The Stable Surface
I love having a stable platform to do my torch soldering that is fairly smooth (as apposed to a fire or charcoal brick), and by the way I set it on top of a firebrick to protect my work bench when soldering. I can use the holes for pins to hold the pieces steady too. I will buy another when/if this one wears out (it may not wear out ever it seems incredibly sturdy). I am also purchasing one without the holes for soldering things like bezels where I need to lay the solder down on the surface supporting the solder piece as close to the seam as I can get it. With the holes in this platform, the solder drops through when working on those kinds of pieces. However, this little platform is really great for attaching bezels to backing pieces where the solder lays fully on the piece being soldered. The heat is quickly dissipated when you remove the torch because of the holes, so you have more control over heating the piece because you are pretty much only heating the piece. The surface of the platform doesn't get eaten up by the heating/cooling extremes either. It is hardly marked at all from the torch after several pieces worth of work I have done. I really do love this soldering board.

Great soldering board, honeycomb has benefits, bonus it works with paperclips as pins for us cheap (broke) artists ;-p
Love this!So I had a bit of a mixup but finally was able to get one of these soldering boards and I really love it. The holes are about perfect for paperclips, so although I do not know if true "pins" exist to use in this I do know I have used unbent paperclips as pins and it worked just fine. Its a good size however I would certainly go larger after having used this size. That is no fault of theirs though. Thats just me being cheap... lol.Its light weight, allows solder to flow through and not pool up, does the job of allowing you to solder, torch, without burning things down. Everything one hopes for in a soldering board.I am pleased and would recommend this to anyone looking at these honeycomb style boards wondering if it would work for them. It just might... its a reasonable price and worth trying!

Lightweight, airy, works well! Happy customer
Very happy with this product. Used for soldering and annealing small precious metal for jewelry making. It arrived in one piece! Propane torch turns it red. The holes are very small, approximately 1.5 mm for each hole. The hole sizes are very consistent, but the material between the holes are slightly inconsistent... approximately .5mm to .75mm. The holes are perfectly round, not hexagonal, but they are placed in a honeycomb pattern. One face is completely smoothed flat and level, while the other face is "ridged"/divoted... not completely smoothed flat, but it is even and still level. The non-smoothed side seems to have been purposefully manufactured in this manner, not slopilly created. Full size is 13.5cm by 9.5cm by 1.15cm

My Go To Soldering Block
I’ve been using this ceramic block since April 2016 and it hasn’t failed me yet. I came back to buy a second one for occasional use when I need just a little more working area.I’m completely sold on the ceramic block over the magnesia or charcoal ones simply due to the lack of mess. The other two get everywhere!I also love the little holes. I use regular round toothpicks to hold my pieces in place while soldering. It makes a big difference in keeping things aligned.Once I got here I started reading the recent reviews and decided to try a different seller or brand. When I bought mine it was shipped by Amazon, not the seller, so it arrived unbroken. Strangely I like my purchases to be in one piece when they arrive. If it goes back to being shipped by Amazon I won’t hesitate to buy the Euro Tool Ceramic Block again.

Great heat shield
I have used this ceramic heat shield, along with a butane torch to heat color a few different projects: coins, Titanium pieces, and Titanium knife scales/parts. This ceramic board has two different surfaces, one is completely flat, and the other is slightly raised (like egg crate foam); the later is good for minimum contact with the work piece.Related Products:Blazer GB4001-02 Stingray Butane Torch, Blue

Excellent for doing small solders.
I don't know how I soldered without it. I do small, fiddly solders on jump rings and prior to using this I held each ring up in tweezers to isolate the heat from other rings. This has made my life so much easier, I can lay them flat next to one another and just run the torch over them one at a time with no fear of messing up my work. There is no no fear of losing excess solder and joining parts accidentally, the heat gets reflected upwards in a very small surface area. This is a great product.

Does what it is supposed to do.
Most experienced jewelers will know most of this information. The small holes of this plate go all the way through, it really needs to be placed on a heat resistant surface. I make my own rings for making chains using .999 silver. This block is a perfect size to do over a dozen small rings. I had considered the larger board but I'm happy with this one. Reasonably priced, quick ship, made this decision an easy one. Thanks
