I'm not handy. I don't have a drill. Would it be easy for me to put together without a drill.

Yes it's very easy to put together you don't need a drill when I tried to use a drill it started to split the wood

Does the base come off easily for transport? I would use it for my mobile boutique so it'd need to go in and out of my car!

I don't believe the base comes off. It is screwed together. It is pretty small and may fit in your car as is...

Is this made of real wood or plywood? If real wood, what kind?

It is not real wood, but it is sturdy and serving the purpose!

Can you set a basket on the bottom rack or is it curved?

It is slightly curved. However, you can still sit items on the bottom. A bigger basket/tray is less likely to fall off when items inside of that basket/tray are unevenly distributed.

It’s okay. 3.5 stars

Item fairly easy to assemble, though at first it may appear that it’s defective because in my case a couple of the holes were not visibly through both sides of the wood and required me to push the nail through to open up.Also unfortunately it arrived with a couple flaws in the wood, one chip in the wood that’s noticeable but I turned it around to hide it.I’m disappointed this isn’t a few inches taller, as it would still be possible for children to reach it and leave more room for the longer princess costumes (my daughter is only 4 by the way). It’s okay for the tutus but I really wanted this for her princess costumes and this rack isn’t quite high enough so they drag on the floor and take up space that could’ve been used on the bottom rack.

it really is quite perfect.

This arrived quickly and it as solid and cute as can be. My rating reflects the fact that it was improperly prepared. Two of the main pre-drilled screw holes were missing and I was not able to put it together. The area with missing holes can be seen in one of the photos I attached. I had to find somebody with carpentry skills to replace the missing holes for me. Now that it is fixed, it really is quite perfect.

Not to happy about the crack/split but overall if it wasn't for ...

One of the rails came cracked so I was afraid of it splitting once I put the screw in. We screwed it in by hand slowly and it seemed to be okay. Not to happy about the crack/split but overall if it wasn't for that I would have given 5 stars as I love this and my daughter does too.
