MagFilter 55mm Threaded Adapter Ring with Carrier Bag, Magnetic Lens Filter Adapter Rings, Compatible with Canon Sony Nikon Panasonic

I was recently trying out the Sony rx100 VII and I am primarily a videographer. There is no built in ND system inside the Sony rx100 VII so I needed something to keep my shutter speed down. This filter system did the trick.I use an 82 mm variable ND filter for all my video work. I needed something strong enough to hold that filter and be able to give me the quality I wanted. This system did that and made it super easy when I wanted to remove from the camera.There is a ring that you stick to the camera that works as a magnet. You then take the filter ring and magnetize it to the front of the camera. I was able to pull my filter on and off the camera in less than a second. This allowed me to switch from video to photo so fast.If you have one of these Sony rx100 cameras, you will not be disappointed with using this system. It came with 2 sticky rings so you can attach to 2 different cameras. I would highly recommend this product if you are a videographer like myself.

The metal adapter ring which uses an adhesive to attach to the lens barrel does not properly fit the Sony RX100 vii in 2024.The adapter ring in the package I received measures 33.5mm i.d. by 39mm o.d. . The 39mm o.d. portion of the ring is slightly larger than the o.d. of the lens barrel (which is 38mm). This causes a problem because the adhesive on the back of the metal ring which overhangs the barrel, could make contact with the lens barrel that surrounds the 'main' lens barrel.

I can see how others have had filters fall off their phones. The magnets in this thing are strong, but not strong enough if you whipped the camera around quickly. I've used it with care and often will remove the filter while transporting the camera around between shots.Overall I'm very happy with this on my RX100 Mark vii (RX100 7). It worked perfectly and the 55mm filters are a decent size for this device. I bet you could go smaller on the filters but don't have another ring to test. 55 seemed quite large on the front of the camera.This camera is now part of my travel and wedding videography kit. It is so darn small you can take it anywhere and the filters mean you can capture footage that looks incredible -- even in bright sunlight!!

This is a simple yet well implemented solution for cameras that don't have a filter thread like my Sony RX100vii. Very easy to install and easy to use. The only little catch is that if you use a variable ND filter with this it can be tricky to adjust the filter because the whole mount can move a bit. You have to hold the mount steady while adjusting the ND filter. I also use this on my Panasonic point and shoot camera the kit comes with 2 metal rings to mount on the cameras.

I use this adapter to attach polarizer to my Sony RX100 VII. 55 mm adapter with "B+W Circular Polarizer Kaesemann - Xtra Slim" displays slight vignetting in the corners at the widest lens setting (24 mm). Vignetting completely goes away at 28 mm and up. If you shoot at 16:9 or in video mode, there is no vignetting at any focal length.

Got this to attach various filters to the Sony RX100 VII. Easy to install and the magnet is pretty strong. Convenient that an ND filter can be popped on and off quickly. As another reviewer noted, the magnet holds well even with a larger diameter filter and several sets of step-up rings.The one con - with the 55mm size MagFilter, I get very annoying vignetting when taking photos at 24mm. At 24mm, I can even see slight darkening from the edges of the adapter without a filter attached (I see it on all 4 corners, so it's not due to an alignment issue). So, if you have an Rx100 M6 or M7 and are concerned about vignetting at 24mm, it will definitely happen if you buy this adapter in 55mm size or smaller.

No cut corners! Works great with my RX100. Now I have neutral filters and other filter choices. Great for circular polarizer.
