No. To be honest, I’m not too sure why you’d want to do that as it seems a complex way of weighing anything, but if that’s how you need to do it, weigh the spoon 1st, then subtract that from the spoon & peanut butter weight …

Is the display easily seen from every angle?

Sorry, your question isn’t overly clear about where you are viewing them from, so this is the best I can tell you … The display isn’t transparent, so you can’t see it from underneath if that’s what you are asking. From directly above, you can see them fine, but if you’re using them at a height that is equal to your eyeline, no you can’t see the display properly … but that would be the same for any digital scales with an LCD screen on the horizontal plain. The only issue I’ve had with seeing the display, is in bright sunlight or when a bright light is bouncing off the display - but again, that’s no different from any other LCD display … even an iPhone or Android screen are difficult to see in those conditions. For the price, they’ve been good scales
