What kind of softener should I get for this hide?

You would not get a softener for this head. Soak in water, sew and fix to to you drum, and let it dry. It will tighten naturally to a playable tension. Adding lotion or softener will loosen the leather and make it stretch.

How many skins a included in the order?

These are priced each, the photo just shows the range of color.

How many skins includes? Most of the picutres show two or three as if it's a pack of more then one.

I ordered just one, it was a long time ago and I am not sure how the seller list the skins. When I purchased it was quantity of one at check out. But I personally probably wouldn't buy from them again.

What diameter skin would you recommend for a 12" rope-tuned djembe?

id go with 24" not postive but when i did my bongos i was told i needed twice the size. which made sence once i had to "skirt it thru" it looks like a djembe has a ring the same way a bongo does. id go big or call a local music shop to be sure
