Seems like a winner!
So far I like it. As others have commented on other sites, the shipping box from the company is not strong enough for a appliance this size, and the outer case of the unit was delivered slightly damaged. But it was only slight and did not effect the internal components. The instructions are poor at best. For example, "do I remove the rear drain plug or keep it sealed?" Well, looking at the A/C it was replacing, which was rusted, I decided to remove the plug to allow it to drain naturally vs. having the water collect in the pan and having the fan blade blow the water up on the condenser, which created a clogged messy condenser on the old unit. I feel this optional drain plug is a good option on this unit. So far it's a quiet, powerful unit. The compressor and fan motor are slightly larger than the old unit, it's a slightly heavier unit, but that might mean its better built. and the overall construction seems better quality. Slides easily out of the case. It cost a bit more than others, but seems like a much better quality unit. So far I am very happy.

Sounds like at jet engine and compressor burned up
This is the worst purchase I have ever made. I had six friedrick ac units already in my home when I purchased this one. Some are 20+ years old. They’re quiet and cool great, so it was an easy choice to purchase this unit when I needed a new one. It arrived with the box damaged and unit dented but apparently everyone else’s did too. I figured it was just cosmetic but I was wrong. The unit ran so loud, it was hard to be in the same room with it. And after a few short months of use, the compressor burned up.This company refuses to replace or refund my order even though they sold me a defective unit. And it’s been less than six months. Please beware and shop elsewhere.

Glad we got it!
This is a more powerful AC and easily took over the job the of 15 year old model it replaced. It arrived with some cosmetic damage, and the rotating blades did not operate. I chose to install anyway, since the cosmetic damage was on the outside, and didn't affect operation. The blade issue had to be addressed by a service call, which was covered under the warranty.

Does not work, actually turns off, in triple digits heat!
These are not made to work in high desert temperatures (per the company). We have several of these units in our rentals. They all stop working in the triple digits heat. They show a "code 34" and turn off. This is a huge problem when you are gone for the day or weekend, and the air turns of while you are away.

Grest AC unit
Really like it. Cools great. Wish the temperature that causes the unit to cycle had a bigger differential. 1 or 2 degrees and it's kicking back on. Living in the humid south it's a bit annoying. The remote make this tolerable since it's easy to manually turn on and off. Compressor I'd nicely silenced compared to any unit I've owned before fans could be quieter. Very pleased overall.

Arrived broken; Manufacturer support gets zero stars

The "check filter light" stays on even though the filter is not dirty. I suppose that these are minor issues
The face of the unit does not seem to want to stay on. The thermostat is not accurate. Seems to run forever even when it has reached the set temperature. The "check filter light" stays on even though the filter is not dirty. I suppose that these are minor issues, but the unit is NEW.!
