Casting slips often need 2 to 10 or more mL of Darvan 7 per 1000 g of dry material. You have to add the Darvan 7 slowly the first time you mix up a recipe. One US liquid pint is about 473 mL.

Q: Can I use this with white slip?

Im really not sure. I watch Clayshare all the time and I know Jess Putnam-Phillips has mentioned this a few times on her broadcasts, so you might want to search for it on her website. I know there's gum solution which helps spread glazes (makes them more fluid) and I THINK Darvan is the opposite. You also can look on either the Mayco or Amaco websites for the description for Darvan and its uses. Good Luck
