Great product, does exactly what it says
This product is sturdy and well-made. It couldn't be simpler to use. It was a little bit on the pricy side, but well worth it!

Good manual crusher that doubles as exercise
I got this for my spouse to use since that is the preferred method of crushing cans. I ended up using it myself every few weeks. It can feel like a little bit of exercise so that is a plus for me. I like that is is a simple concept. Sometimes the cans take a moment to compress and get crushed, It works for me and I like that the base feels strong, heavy and sturdy.

Works great
Using leg muscles instead of arms works great for this ole lady. Went from four large bags taking up lots of space to one bag that is pretty heavy. I love this thing.

Did not function as promised
On the first night I used it I was trying to crush plastic bottles but this crusher would either get stuck or not be able to crush them. Besides that there was a screw missing and the springs would occasionally get stuck. I got a wall mount crusher and that worked way better for me in the long run.

Not everyone drinks soda.
Putting this together was easy, a little clumsy, but easy. there are only seven parts, two rods, two springs that go into the rods and three plastic pieces, one for the top, one to step on and one for the base. The one for the base is what I want to address. It is 8" X 5". I guess it was made solely for 64 oz bottles and nothing else. I don't drink soda, I drink water and I always use gallon bottles of water but getting rid of them is a problem for me. I have to have someone take them out for me. The gallon plastic bottle does not fit into the base of this crusher. It needs to be at least 6" instead of 5"across. I can crush it and it crushes easily, but it takes a while to get it just perfectly in position. This is also kind of flimsy. I did several bottles and it fell apart. The side rods are very hard to push all the way it. I'm going to try a rubber mallet next. While I appreciate what this crusher does, it just isn't worth the price for two tubes and three pieces of plastic. I looked and looked for an alternative and couldn't find one. I guess this will have to do.The rubber mallet worked. The side rods are in as far as they can go and it makes it a bit more solid. Don't hit too hard and hold the opposite side or it will pop up.

Works as advertised
This thing is expensive but works well. I find it easier to use than any wall mounted unit that I have owned and over the years I have gone a few of those. It is lightweight but seems sturdy and stable. I can't speak to the longevity and durability yet but it seems to be a quality tool. I live in a condo so mounting a crusher on the wall was not an option. This is perfect for a condo or apartment. It just works.

Wouldn't "rebound" and return shipping surprise :(
I loved the idea of this product. Upon receipt, I started to use it and quickly noticed the top plate wouldn't "rebound" after the can was crushed most of the time. I re-read the instructions to make sure I was using it properly, so I removed the towel I had under it as it says a flat surface is required and I carefully made sure each can was properly placed and had a dent in it (as recommended). Even after I did that, I estimate that only 2 or 3 times out of 10 it would rebound without me manually lifting the top plate back into position. It got tedious after a while so I figured especially with the high price of the item, it wasn't worth me keeping it.The item was shipped to me in a product box which was not contained within a different shipping box, so the original product box had some dents in it from the original shipping. When I went to process the return, I had quite a surprise! First, the instructions said I could ship it back any method, and I would be refunded $3.99 once the return was received. That rubbed me the wrong way, but I figured I must have missed that it was not a free return item for Prime Members. When I checked to see the cost to return it, between UPS, USPS and FedEx, the least expensive method was $21.48!It bothered me that I had to pay that amount of shipping for a product that didn't work as described, so I called Amazon and they agreed to offer me a refund for the return shipping I paid, which I was quite appreciative of. I also checked the product description again and it did say "Free returns" so I'm still not sure why I got the instructions I did.Great product idea - it may have just been my experience that was "off" what was expected but I'm very disappointed it didn't work as expected.
