Native American Stories for Kids by Tom Pecore Weso is a wonderfully written and illustrated book on Native American culture and history all across the US and Canada. Although this book is geared toward kids, I as an adult, throughly enjoyed and appreciated it. I enjoyed the simplicity and insight of each story. I would definitely recommend this book for children as well as adults.

My granddaughter loves the information and the stories that explain how our cultures are so different. Good age-appropriate material that deals with sensitive subjects with objectivity and dignity.

An excellent children’s book! It was very well-written, captivating, and had beautiful illustrations. An excellent introduction to Native American culture and storytelling for young children! Please buy this book if you are thinking about it. You won’t be sorry!

I bought this for my 5 year old for Indigenous Peoples day and it exceeded my expectations. Other books for that age seem to either describe native Americans as a monolith or focus only on one group, while this offered the broader context without being a history book. He loves the maps, the stories, and the details about the tribes the stories come from.

I’m a 3rd grade teacher and I purchased this for our Native American unit. It has fantastic stories that is great for discussion about the culture and also great to discuss the deeper meaning of the stories. I highly recommend.

An easy read for a child but an adult may be necessary to explain the history and the unfortunate events during this time.

Are used these stories for school. The kids each practice a paragraph and then we recorded their voices online so that they could speak fluently.
