Great Way to Explore Eliasson's Industrial Art
Like most Taschen books very well produced and worthy of the proverbial coffee table. These guys and Phaidon might be the last two remaining big book publishers on earth who still do it old-school / really put the quality in and don't cut corners. Get em while they still exist. Pretty soon some idiot consultant is going to tell them to sell their book printing operations and "use an app".I purchased this book because I saw this man's work on a Netflix special and was inspired to learn more / see more of what he's made. This book is a perfect way to do that. Nice mix of detailed interviews / accounts (in English and German I believe) and beautifully reproduced photos. A very impresive collection if you like immersive forms of art that rely heavily on architecture and science concepts (would be fair to describe as a sort of ode to geometric forms, accented by water, ice, and manipulated lighting). The artist has architectural roots so it's not hard to understand why he's drawn to a more mathematical or angular style but lots of cool use of light, prisms, shadows, structure, natural elements. It's not for everyone but I think it's very cool stuff.Watch the special first and if you like what you see, get the book. You won't regret it. Only minor complaint one corner of the front cover was slightly deformed (was probably warehouse-dropped at some point) but not enough of an issue to send it back.

Amazing, Comprehensive, Insightful Coffee Table book
Really extensive compilation of SOE's work, lots of large beautiful photographs and tons of interesting text to read. Going to be staying on my coffee table for quite a while! (to respond to the other person's review about the size, its the text that is small, not the book itself which is quite large and heavy)

Beautiful Book
A comprehensive collection of his work and the subjects that he works with. Gorgeous book with in depth writing and beautiful pictures. High quality printing. This is a collection of his work and studio practice.

disappointing
I was hoping for great recipes and amazing pics. This was not compiled with the reader in mind, it is a sales tool and as such is unfortunate.

Don’t buy it!
It is a small version, not a jumbo version! It took almost 3 weeks when I received it

Excellent book!
I saw an episode of "Abstract: The Art of Design" on Netflix and that episode was of Olafur Eliasson. I like his work and wanted to find a book to read more of what he has done/designed. There are a few on Amazon but this one caught my eye as the price was reasonable as well. I had not expected a heavy brick though so was surprised when I received it :D. Not a disappointment though as there's loads to read though and plenty of photos, too.

Imperdibile.
Davvero consigliato.
