Great Little Kit
Bought these for a project for my 8 yr old grandson and I. They were very easy to assemble. We had good fun working together on these. Two small complaints- 1. The hole size on the bird house is a bit too small. I doubt any birds in our area could actually use it, except for maybe a hummingbird. 2. The amount of paint that comes in the kit isn’t likely enough to cover if you wanted a solid color scheme. Especially if you wanted both the same color. That’s why ours are so colorful 😁. The pictures are after being outside for about a month and a heavy rain storm. They held up pretty good. The feeder has been emptied once already by wild birds. It has been fun watching them feed. All in all I would recommend for children and adults alike.

Great product and fun for a 6 year old to pound in the pegs to assemble
We only put together the bird feeder. Very well made and easy to assemble. We did not use the stencils. They were not related to a bird feeder (iguana, duck, dragon fly, fish, frog). We spray painted the bird feeder different colors, including the pegs. Lots of glitter on top of the paint! Used gorilla glue to secure pegged pieces and pounded in the pegs. Painted windows to match the roof and glued them on with the provided latex glue.Next project is the bird house...

Fun group project for the family.
So far we only set up the bird feeder. We had fun with the kids, letting everyone paint their own piece how they wish. Assembly was pretty easy.

Turns out really cute
The bird houses turn out really cute and my grands and I had fun painting them. The instructions are fairly clear but could use some further clarification. For example, they do not state to be sure the clasp is put on the outside of the birdhouse when assembling. This ensures the bottom from sliding out. We actually had to re-do that portion when it was realized that we had put it toward the inside of the house. Secondly, there is not enough paint provided to paint the houses exactly like the cute pictures used on Amazon. I purchased more paint out of pocket b/c we wanted ours to be like their pictures. However, overall we were pleased with the final products after these adjustments and additional paint purchases were made.

Quality worth the extra price!!!
I built these with my 4 year old. The dowel and hammer assembly was just right to keep her interested and have her do all the work. There are cheaper kits out there, but I would have had to pretend that she was building it when actually or would be me.Bird Feeder:We built it with no glue. I helped her stencil paint it. We filled it with food and put it outside. Then after it was emptied the first time, I brought it in the house for a few days and let her take it apart and rebuild it many times. When she was done with it being a toy, I disassembled it and we coated it with Spar Urethane together. After bedtime I have it a light sanding, 2nd coat, and reassembled it with a few drops of Tight Bond 2 on one side of each pin. It can be disassembled, but it won't come apart on its own.Bird House:Similar story, but I didn't put it out before letting her finish with it for obvious reasons.IMPORTANT NOTES FOR BUYERS:A lot people don't understand manufacturing tolerances in reality. We as consumers have to be able to adjust, adapt, or alter our purchases. This is especially true with a kit like this. There were a few holes that were slightly larger than others causing the peg to not serve its purpose on dry assembly. That's fine. Don't complain about it in front of your kid. Either fix it privately after your kid has experienced success. Or, if your kid notices it, show or at least explain to them how you intend to fix it, and tell them that this is how real life works. Everything looks perfect on paper or on screen, but when it comes time to make things, you have to cope with the imperfections in reality.
