SalomonMen's X Ultra Pioneer Mid Gore-tex Hiking Shoe

I love these Salomon Ortholite boots. They’re primarily used for the daily dog walk expeditions and have proved to be the best boots I’ve had in ages. The best thing is the lightweight quality but they have surprised me by the excellent waterproofing. For up to four hours of wet Welsh weather, they stay dry and comfortable very well. (I haven’t tested them beyond a four hour walk but they stand up to pretty soggy weather and deep puddles excellently). I’ve been wearing this pair for about two months and they show little sign of wear and tear. Hose the down after a muddy walk and they look as good as new.

I love these boots; hardwearing, supportive, comfortable waterproof and really grippy. Not more to say really other than I'll be getting another pair once my current ones wear out.

Easy to slip on and off... Doesn't require double knots etc as pretty secure.

Had a pair of shoes from this line. Comfortable, lightweight and long lasting. Hope mid highs will be the same.

I was able to use them without walking them in. I am a 9.5 shoe size and these were a good fit. I have some foot issues so finding comfortable hiking boots is always hard.I have not walked in the wet yet but when I washed them the water just ran off the boots.A good purchase.My Wife wears the trail shoe version and is more than happy with them.

Not waterproof. Started leaking after 6 weeks and by week 8 a short walk across a field of grass resulted in sodden feet. With the Amazon return period of 30 days now expired its proving extremely difficult to get my money back. Difficult to see where the water is coming in there's no damage or splits etc. Hopefully Salomon customer support will step up however for now these boots are simply not fit for purpose. Lesson learnt buy local and avoid the lottery of Amazon's returns policy.

The initial fit, comfort and look was brilliant. Fully waterproof on the first couple of trips into the Uk mountains. Handled all weathers and kept feet warm. However less than a year in, with probably 10-15 days use I noticed both feet were damp in wet weather. A few more wet days and feet were constantly soaked. Disappointed.

Comfortable and light mid-weight boots, walked for a week ~100km in total without breaking them in and no blisters. They were very waterproof on a day of continuous rain. Replaced previous similar pair which had lost their waterproofness over time.Good for longer distance walks if your pack is not too heavy (< 9kg) but you might want a sturdier boot especially the sole for longer / heavier pack walks on consistently stony ground.
