Cute, Feel Good
I really enjoyed this story. In fact, I probably have laundry starting to mildew in the washer because I had to keep reading. I loved the slow build. I loved the character development. I loved the silly and the sweet. It's definitely worth my time. Now, I want to watch every movie mentioned in the story. Could someone get on that please?

I begrudgingly finishedâŚand am mildly pleased
Itâs a cute book. Letâs start there. Nothing earth shattering or mind-blowing, but itâs nice. The backdrop of the quirky community and townsfolk are really enjoyable, Sawyer and Fallon are likable characters, the Sully storyline really adds a unique spin. That being said, I cannot stand Jaz. On multiple occasion as, she was almost enough to make my quit the book entirely. Thatâs saying a lot for a side character. Itâs almost like the author tried too hard to make her this out of the box ânot like other girlsâ girl, and I despised her. Yes, sheâs loyal and a good friend (most of the time) to Fallon. That being said, her conversations, quips, and banter are cringeworthy at times and flat out annoying at all others. I do think she adds to the story, but she could have been just as overprotective, just as quirky, just as tough without being so freaking annoying. You know those people where you have to stop and ask, âDo you take anything seriously? Is everything just an opportunity for a funny one-liner?â Itâs her. And Iâm sorry, but the running joke that she carries a switchblade to slash tires isnât funny. She struggles with boundaries and being appropriate most of the time.My final complaint: this book couldâve been shorter. The will they, wonât they plus the cabin renovations took 85% of the story, then in the final 5% a ton of drama unfolds but it feels random and misplaced and as if the author were looking for something to add conflict as to not make the story too easy for the happy couple. I would recommend to a friend, but with caveats. I wouldnât reread.

Lots of sass and snark!
The characters were amazing, the dialogue was real, and the love story within the love story was heartwarming. I highly recommend!

adorable, fun read
Super cute and quick read. Predictable and cheesy but in the best way. The MMCs relationship with the FMCs grandpa was adorable, I loved how that helped evolve their love story too. I really liked the layering with grandpa and grandmas romance.

Interesting premise, a movie written inside a book
Love the interesting idea of a movie writer categorizing and plotting characters and storylines through out his day to day life as a habit. Fun to see how this could apply to our favorite authors. It was refreshing an new. The story line itself was cleverly set up and for me only had one flaw. I wish the friends actions had been more called out during the end. I could handle the over the top character for the most part but at some points the h should've put her foot down and said she had crossed lines, then maybe showed her growth and changed a little more. Or broke down her habits with some more truth and softness throughout so that she didn't just seem so one dimensional and almost overly toxic.I think the heart of the story, it's emotions and emotional growth (for everyone else) was great though. It's good humor and very slow burn made it 100 times that much more of a perfect read!!

Another fantastic story!
I absolutely loved this book. It had everything I expect from a Meghan Quinn book, it had romance, laughter, a story that gets you hooked and fantastic characters. The story between Sawyer and Fallon had me hooked, Jaz was hilarious and Sully was adorable. Not only do you get hooked on Fallon and Sawyer and their story but you get hooked on the other characters in the book as well. They were all written fantastically, the love story was a story that I'd absolutely love myself lol, and the humour throughout was brilliant. I highly recommend this book and cannot wait to read another of hers! Definitely one of my favourite authors.

3.5 stars!
This story is about Sawyer who's a Hollywood screenwriter and as you can guess from the title, he has runaway from his ex's wedding. He causes an entire scene there which is unfortunately captured in the cameras and to get away from the media, he decides to hideaway for a while which lands him into the small-town where Fallon lives. The first and middle part of the book was going on well. It was a slow-burn and I usually love such stories but the blurb didn't have a warning that this book has a love triangle. Because Fallon has a long distance boyfriend when Sawyer meets her. But because of that, there was so much pinning on Sawyer's part which I liked. So I kind of have mixed feelings about the book. But nonetheless it was fun to read though I was expecting something more from the ending. I liked the setting of the small town and the side characters especially Grandpa Sully and Jaz, they were so hilarious! So the book wasn't lacking in the humour department which made it more enjoyable for me.

Written with warmth, heart and humour
I laughed, smiled, snort-laughed and chuckled over the numerous funny one-liners. The book was really well written, with warmth, humour and sensitivity. The characters had depth, charm, sass and heart, making them believable and likeable.Well done Meghan, on writing an entertaining and enjoyable book. I downloaded audio version, and have to say that I enjoyed listening to the 2 actors? who read the various parts, using different voices for each character. They did a great jobđ
