AWESOME on so many levels!
I had already wetted (pun intended) the appetite of my great niece for watercolors, but we had only used solid paint pan sets. She had already demonstrated tremendous artistic ability and curiosity about media and techniques. Recently, for her 7th birthday, I knew that this watercolor tube set would blow her mind. I think the smile on her face pretty well sums it up.A REALLY COMPREHENSIVE KITThis set is perfect for anyone interested in watercolors without making a major investment. It comes with 24 vivid watercolor paint tubes, real watercolor paper (hot pressed so it has classic watercolor paper texture), 3 brushes AND a palette (see photo). I don't know how they offer this set at such a great price point.I would recommend buying Heartybay's 10 piece nylon hair brush set at Amazon for $4.99. For the price it is a steal and complements the terrific AEM Hi Arts Watercolor Paint Artist Set. If you don't want to spend the extra money, the 3 brushes that come with the kit will still give you a satisfying painting experience.(https://www.amazon.com/Heartybay-10Pieces-Round-Pointed-Nylon/dp/B00V4EG6D6/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1537033289&sr=8-3&keywords=heartybay+brushes)For newbies, I recommend watching a few very basic "Intro to watercolor" YouTube videos before loading the palette, though It's not necessary. Perhaps this would be more beneficial after jumping in with both feet and first experiencing the creative process. Regardless, I can't imagine this set will bring nothing but curiosity and joy.AEM's AWESOME GUIDING PRINCIPLES (from their Amazon sales page)"Art is a powerful gift that can heal, restore, build confidence and help others find joy. Whether for yourself or as a gift for a family member who may be young or old, the exploration of art can be an anti-depressant, a meditative tool or a way to communicate with the world for art therapy."NOT ONLY THAT BUT................................."❤️ 1-FOR-1 PROMISE: We believe that the greatest journey mankind can have is through their own creative exploration, no matter how young, old, rich, poor, healthy and especially those who are not in good mental or physical health. For every set sold, 1 set will be given to an organization in need of art to heal and find joy. The gift of creative expression through art is one of the greatest gifts in the world. It heals, it creates joy, it connects humans. It crosses cultures and is universal"IN SUMMARYI just purchased another set for another one of my great nieces who is turning 12. I know in advance that I am going to be a rock star Uncle after she opens this gift and since we live in the same city, I'll be able to spend time with her and paint the changing of the season.

Great Social Distancing Kit: Has Everything A Beginner Needs (But a Little More Paper Would be Nice)
My wife and I purchased this paint set as we had to develop our repertoire of indoor "social distancing" hobbies, and we're SO pleased that we did! It arrived really quickly, just like we needed. It's a particularly good set for beginners (both of us are), since the one box contains everything that you need to get started with painting immediately! Here are some highlights:*THE PAINTS: We're new enough to the world of watercolor painting that we were a little surprised to see the paints packaged within plastic tubes, rather than the dried pads from the elementary school paint kits that we grew up with. But they ended up being pretty intuitive, and easy to mix with water to get the exact color we were looking for. And the variety is awesome! The set includes 24 vibrant colors.*The BRUSHES: Paintbrushes were a must for us, since we didn't want to buy the paints from one place and the brushes from another. The brushes that came with this set are both delicate (in the artistic sense--you can paint as finely as you'd like to) and durable.*The PALETTE: We didn't give the palette too much thought when we ordered it, but have come to really appreciate having it around while painting! It's nice to not use various plates & tupperwares while painting, but to instead have all of the colors neatly sectioned off from one another.*The PAPER: The paper is high quality and the paint doesn't bleed through (you can even paint twice on each sheet, once one side has dried), but it quickly became clear that we would need to order more to sustain a longer-term painting hobby. I wish the paint set came with a larger pad, but I guess it can't have everything! All in all, we're really happy with this set and would recommend it to any beginners looking to settle into a watercoloring hobby. Happy painting!

All You Need Is Water - Updated 10/29/19
I'm just getting started with watercolor painting and chose this set because it basically came with everything I needed to get started at a good price. The paints seem to be of good quality and are easy to use. Wasn't sure of the brushes until I started to use them. the smallest has become a favorite for more detailed work. The paper that came in the set is not as heavyweight as the 140lb watercolor paper I eventually got to go with the paint set but it works pretty well. It does absorb the water a little more than the heavier weight paper. But it's usable and a good size for practicing watercolor techniques. This is a good starter set and I would recommend it to anyone looking to get started in watercolor without spending a fortune.Update: October 29, 2019I've used these for over a year now, off and on. I do still enjoy them but have found that they do not work well to dispense into half pans and store in a travel palette. They dried and cracked badly, to the point of falling out of the pan very easily. I even added glycerin to see if that helped, it didn't. I now used them straight from the tube on a porcelain palette, and they work just fine. The colors are brilliant and I have several favorites I use often. The brushes did seem a bit cheap at first but have become my favorites. I like how stiff they are and don't hold an over abundance of water. Good for learning how to control the flow of the paint. I've use them successfully to paint in adult coloring books.I do have higher quality paints now and while these don't really compare, I do still recommend them for starting out.

Great gift for my 6 year old
She loves this and uses it all of the time. I would recommend purchasing a set of pipettes to drop water into each dish.
