Perfect barrier between grounds and shower screen!
The media could not be loaded. As my video shows, when you use the puck screen, be sure to leave a decent amount of space for it above the grounds after tamping! The espresso will expand naturally when the water flows through, and that will make the puck screen rise, press against the shower screen too tightly, and your shot won’t pull right. I’ve learned my lesson through a decent amount of practice!I bought this puck screen because it was the perfect 51mm size I needed, and I got so tired of cleaning grounds off the shower screen on the machine. It’s nearly impossible to see at such an awkward angle. This puck screen is the perfect preventative measure, and I’m so glad I took a chance on something that only had one review. I’m very pleased with it.Physically, this item is sturdy and it’s going to last a long, long time. I also only rinse and wipe it off. Because the holes are so, so small, it seems unwise to me to use dish soap and have residue remaining inside the screen holes. Keep that in mind when you receive your product!10/10 product, and absolutely worth it to me.

Jury is out on if it works
Before getting this I wasn't sure if puck screens actually did anything to improve the taste of espresso. I still don't, even after having this for a few weeks. I think the theory makes sense, but it's hard to tell. I think if you prepare a puck well then this will have little to no impact other than keeping your shower screen cleaner. If you do a poor job at preparing your puck then I don't think this can save your shot. So is it worth it? I think it's subjective. On the plus side, all my shots with this have been good, so maybe there's something to it, but I'll never know if they would have been good without it.On the other hand, I think this thing makes cleanup more of a pain. I expected it to be the opposite, but now when I knock my puck out into a knock box I have to dig through to pull out the HOT puck screen. I have a hard time pulling it out without dumping the puck. Then I have to rinse it and my hand. And when I drop the screen in it ends up knocking some grinds on top of the screen (picture dropping a big sheet of plywood on a dusty floor: it kicks up a lot of dust that settles on top). I'm not sure if that's because it isn't wide enough to fit properly in the basket or if that's just how it works. But either way, because of that I still end up rinsing the shower screen so no benefit there.I think for me it's not worth using, but I will continue to experiment with it occasionally with various beans and tampers. But I still give it 4/5 because it doesn't hurt anything and I can't disprove it's claims.

Great Port-a-filter accessory!
Received first Vamotto diffusion screen one month ago. Have used it daily past 30 days. Ordered it when online description stated it kept brewhead clean. It Does!!! Ordered first one for home use, ordered second one for office use!

Keep your machine clean!
I was shocked how these filters keep the machine clean! No more coffee grains stuck to the underside.Doesn’t affect the operation or quality of espresso.

does. not. work.
This thing seems made well enough. I like everything in the description. However...It took me an hour of fiddling to figure out why it doesn't work. For reference For reference, I'm using a Breville Dual Boiler BES920XL. It uses a 58mm basket and the 58.5 mm puck screen does fit the basket. The way things are put together: there a is a group head that is physically part of the machine. There's a rubber or silicone gasket that fits around it. Below that are the inner shower screen, then the shower screen which are attached to the machine with a screw. (You probably wouldn't want to use the shower screen in my pictures since it sort of duplicates what this puck screen wants to accomplish.) When you attach the portafilter to the machine the edge of the espresso basket presses against the gasket, creating a seal. This is why the water goes down into the ground coffee rather than spewing out the sides. In my third picture you can see how much the inner shower screen fits into the basket normally. Where it sticks out is the clearance you need for a good seal between portafilter and gasket. Using the puck screen, which sits on the basket's shoulder, the distance increases between the basket to the gasket a great deal. This is what you're seeing in the fifth photo. At this point the ears of the portafilter simply will not reach over the inner screen to the group head and the gasket. There is no way to attach the portafilter to the machine. My machine came with four baskets. This puck screen doesn't work in three of them because of this problem. The fourth basket has straight sides so the puck will actually fit the bottom. The problem here is that the maximum amount of ground beans that will fit with the puck screen and still be able to attach the portafilter to the machine is so small that no pressure is built up and the pull is incredibly watery.I hate giving bad reviews, but there you have it. This thing will not work with any of the Breville Dual Boilers. If you have a different you may have a completely different experience.

Works great
I bought this mostly just to keep the espresso head clean. It does reduce the amount of ground coffee, but have not found any disadvantages. I use it for every shot, works great and keeps my machine clean.
