Is there a special tool for cutting the kerf in older door frames?

Yes there's a router bit for this purpose but it doesn't reach into the corners at the intersection of the head jamb and the side jambs or at the threshold. You need to use a Dremel style tool and bit to complete the groove.

I want to use this product on a door, but I might move out in few months so I wonder if I can take the it off easily without damaging the door?
