This gate works great, sturdy, and easy to install. 4 stars only because I wish it was stated more clearly on here to not install at stairs as that was the whole reason I bought it. There is a warning label not to place on stairs in the packaging. I used it in a different door way and it works well.

Ok so I never do reviews but this is a great baby gate. Very easy to install if you follow the directions. I bought 2 of them. One needed the extension added and the other didn’t so I got to set it up both ways. The green and red indicator by the latch is a great idea and allows you to make sure it is installed correctly. Also the easiest baby gate to operate by far. I’ve dealt with some that were unnecessarily difficult to open. This is easily opened with one hand. The height is great and it’s very sturdy but I’m also only 5’6” The ability to make it swing open either way is convenient but also to be able to make it one direction is ideal for stairs.

Great Gate for not only keeping babies safe but also works to keep dogs out of certain rooms. Easy to put together and very user friendly and durable

I have 4 kids so I'm not a noob to baby gates. That said, we do have a dog that we like to keep out of certain areas of the house, especially when guests are staying over as he has a tendency to "mark his territory" but only when people are staying with us. He isn't a pushy dog, meaning he's not going to challenge a gate or jump over it.I got this gate specifically for a few reasons:- wide opening - the opening in question is 46" and not many walkthrough gates can expand that far- it doesn't require hardmounting, meaning noting screws into the wall/walkway unless you want to (even the included doublestick pads aren't necessary)- the walkthrough feature works either way- tensioning/adjustment seems easyInstallation was a breeze; there are 2 side extensions in the box, just choose your width and select the number of extensions you need (consult easy chart/assembly instructions provided), move around some of the included inserts, put in the tensioning assemblies (bolts with rubber pads on the end), put in the opening, and tension away. The trickiest part is getting the tension right on both sides of the gate such that it doesn't bow or otherwise throw the entire thing out of alignment or the latch mechanism won't line up. As I mentioned, you don't have to use the included "cups" that adhere (or screw) to the wall/jamb - the adjustment tensioning pads are rubber so they grip the wall fairly well anyway.What might be an issue for some is that the latch is a compound one and does not autolock simply by shutting the gate - it requires you to manually latch/lock it every time. So, I'm not sure I'd use this where you need an easy walktrough and relock. At the top/bottom of stairs it might be tricky as well (e.g. if you're carrying something).All in all a good gate that looks nice, was easy to install and didn't break the bank.
