Good Price for a Winch
I just installed my winch on 10/28/18 and pre-tentioned it Monday morning. So far everything worked as well as it should. It easily pulled my Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with no issues. I have also tested the wired and wireless controllers and both worked great! I did however buy a Super Winch cover to keep the synthetic line clean, dry and safe. I will update this review again once i use it.Update: 2/23/19I have used my winch 2 times so far since it's install back in October. Once to pull my Dad's 1947 Ford 8N tractor out of his garage because it wouldn't start. With the more recent pull back in January when I got his 98 Chevy plow truck suck in mud while plowing. This thing handled both like a champ! I used the remote with the lead both times. I did try my wireless but I think I left it on and killed the battery so it only worked for a min.Update:8/27/19I have used this winch several times now. Once to pull my 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited out of a ditch on a trail as well as using it to pull down trees that have broken in the wind. It has work flawlessly on all accounts. It didn't hesitate pulling me out of the ditch back in May 2019. Went strong and i have had no issues with it at all.

It works for my needs and at a great price butt *UPDATE*
Easy put together. Placed on a receiver plate to use on my tall gooseneck trailer to winch a backhoe up on it and other equipment and to be able to place in the rear of a truck or to a tractor etc.I should add the hand controller plug in had the nuts missing on the bolts holding it in the control box. I had to take the box apart and replace the bolts with new two ones with nutts. Their were no nuts in the box so the bolts were just stuck in the side.I still give it 5 stars because the hand remote and wireless works as they should.Update********##############Lost the wireless and waiting for info to order a new one I hope. I need a wireless winch. Will haft to by a new winch if no answer from Amazon. It want be this brand though. The hand controller worked and winched the equipment up great but takes two people now. Bummer- Grandskids. Will remove the five star to two till I can order a new wireless one.UPDATENew BIG BORE wireless remote listed today so back to five star. Looks like several wireless remotes brand listed would work so no big deal except spent three to four hours looking for the original wireless remote.

Does the Job; Cost Less
This was an upgrade/replacement for an older 7500# Super Winch on my car hauler. I am very pleased. This has plenty of power for single straight line pull, even with 20' of power cable from the truck battery and 4 layers of winch cable. Low profile. Pretty quiet. This is the first wireless remote I have ever used for a winch and I am happy not dancing with a hardwired remote. The control box seems a bit flimsy, but it also was strong enough to keep my hot hands out of it. I doubt I will have to use a block, so I may take a couple layers of cable off. Of course, time will tell. But at < $100 off the competition and Prime free shipping and a hassle-free guarantee/return you won't get at HarFrgt [I looked at the Badlands winch at HF after the purchase, the Boar seems heavier]. This Boar from AMZ was far and away the best deal for me.

Corrected what I consider to be a small design flaw.
I have not used this winch yet (but it looks great!) and as you can see by the pictures I just finished mounting it on a winch cradle but I wanted to address a small and specific 'design flaw' regarding how the winch switch is supposed to mount onto the winch itself. Personally, I think whomever OK'd this design should be fired when it could have easily been resolved before any consumer had to deal with it.The switch is attached to the top of a mounting bracket with 4 screws. Then the mounting bracket itself is supposed to cradle around one of the aluminum bars while the rear of the mounting bracket simply sits down on top of another aluminum bar using 2 machined set screws that protrude out and 'under' the aluminum bar.The 2 machined set screw points in the bracket (Yellow arrows) do NOT screw into the bar, but instead sit "underneath" the bar after screwing them all the way down to act as the only mechanism to prevent likely movement of the switch. This is one of the poorest designs I have seen in a long time. In my opinion, this is very insecure when your bouncing around on certain terrains going through bushes/limbs/etc and can easily be knocked off by a branch or something of the like. For my own peace of mind, I could not let this go unaddressed so I drilled and tapped two new 1/4 holes in the mounting bracket (Blue Arrows) and all the way through the aluminum tube as well; inserted my own machine screws and now it is 100% more secure than it would have been b/c the screws now thread through the bracket and through the aluminum tube. I'm not saying it cannot still be knocked off but a whole lot less likely.

Great Value, good winch.
Got this to replace a 5 year old Smitty Built winch that died... took about 30 minutes to install, installation was easy and the instructions tell you what you need to know ( what wires go where). Love the wireless remote. The synthetic rope was a plus too. Great value for the money even if it is Chinese made. One lesson I learned with the Smitty Built.. buy a winch cover. I purchased the one that was paired with this one. I also took the advise of someone here and caulked the control box.. although winch is water proof the control box is not.

Wont honor warranty! Stay away!
I have this installed on a Jeep Wrangler Jk. After about 10 months my jeep developed a draw killing the battery. A certified mechanic tracked the draw to the WINCH. I contacted off road boar and they wanted pictures which I sent. After several non-productive emails they said " we recommend you buy a shut off switch" . No kidding ! Your product didn't last! They never offer me anything under a 1 year warranty ! Where is that? My advice is to buy from smitty built or a well known manufacturer. I can't believe Amazon allows them to sell on the site. STAY AWAY!
