There isn't really a standard 'cup' - UK generally uses 250ml, US uses 240ml but their coffee 'cup' is 150 ml. This is therefore effectively 2 UK cups - if you want one cup, only fill to 250ml (or a little under if you are using a US recipe)!

I need to do double boiling, is this product able to meet my needs? Thank you

I personally think its ok ,if I understand what you mean by double boiling as....setting the bowl on top of hot water....is that correct?. when you cook that way you are not supposed to have the water bubbling over and really hot, only warm enough to melt say chocolate or sabayon. You can put pyrex in the oven at hotter temperatures I do use the jugs in the m/wave to cook gravy. So with pyrex it does crack but only if its hot and then immediately afterwards you put cold water in I think it shocks the glass. I have a square pyrex dish that I start off in the m/wave then finish in the oven. So I think you should be alright, dou have a food thermometer to check the heat in the jug

It shows ml in 50ml graduations up to 1/2 litre (as well as 1 pint in 1fl.oz. graduations starting at 2fl.oz.).

Can this be heated up to 220 Fahrenheit in a double boiler??
