How long does it take to boil a full and how long does it lasts. Is the inside of the lid plastic and is the pot hot to the touch?

It gets hot, yes: certaninly to hot to hold (though the handle's fine). Not sure what the inside is made of (I'm not at home to check at this moment). I got a red one not a cream one (not sure if that's important). I live in a hard water area and my first one lasted two years (it would no longer connect with the power base) and I replaced it with an identical one, though I may not do so again: It's a lot of money to last only two years...
