New mum essential!
Fantastic item for new mums! Comfortable and easy to use. Really helped my newborn to latch on and stopped the soreness when feeding.

A godsend
Quite simply wouldn't have been able to breastfeed without these as my babies mouth was so small she couldn't latch to my larger breast and flat nipple. She's now a very heathly 3 month old and hasn't yet had a drop of anything other than my breastmilk all via these, we're just now at the point of weaning her away from them as she's big enough now. They are abit of a faff, particularly when you're out, getting them on and making sure baby doesn't knock it off etc. and I find baby does end up dribbling alot with them so I tuck a muslin under my breast to catch it but otherwise they're absolute lifesavers and no woman should be ashamed to use them. Thankfully my supply has never been affected but I know this isn't the case for some women.

Using the Correct Size Makes a Massive Difference!
I tried several different brands of nipple shield before me and my baby settled on these MAM ones. They are the only ones my son would easily latch onto in the early days of breastfeeding.I initially began using shields a day after giving birth as my son wouldn't latch onto my inverted nipples. He was also later diagnosed with tongue-tie and a high palate. These are the ones he seemed to find easiest and they also have the longest nipple part of the shields we tried.I ended up buying all sizes of this shield before deciding which were most effective. Finding the right size made a massive difference, not just in comfort but in my baby's ability to get milk from my breast.I have posted a comparison photo showing all sizes of nipple shield in relation to one another. The flat part of the shield is the same for all sizes it is only the nipple part that differs. For me, I found the small appeared to fit but gave me blood blisters and my son got very little milk from my breast. I found large to be most effective, I think because of my inverted nipples it helped to draw as much of the surrounding nipple into the shield as possible. They are easy to clean and sterilise, you can sterilise them in the case they come with and they are lasting well despite repeated cleaning. My son is 3 months old now and we are still using these shields. I use them whilst doing breast compressions to make it easier to remove milk as the shields act as a bit of a barrier. With the support of my local infant feeding team I intend to continue to use them as long as they are still working for us.These shields have made the difference between me being able to breastfeed or not so I cannot praise them enough!

Nice and thin
My baby wouldn't latch but instantly did with these. Since bought a different brand that are thicker and he wont even try them. 4 stars purely because they do get knocked off easily and I get covered in milk. But as he won't latch with others I can't compare. But very happy as they have given me the chance to breastfeed my baby.

Really hard
Unfortunately I found these really rigid, as did baby. She was unable to latch due to this and I was left with a really sore nipple after just one use/feed. We had previously been using a boots own brand nipple shields and will be going back to these as much comfier and really soft which a more natural shape for her to latch to. These did stay in place really well though. If you're after a soft type shield which mimics a true nipple i would opt for a different type to these.

A must for mums on the verge of giving up breastfeeding!
I bought these on recommendation from a friend, I also wanted to introduce a bottle a day of expressed milk and bought the mam bottles so thought it would make sense to use the same brand of shields. My little one struggled to latch and I ended up with cracked, sore nipples. There were tears all round! I was on the verge of giving up. These provided a bit of protection and helped my little one to latch on. They are very soft and comfortable to use, and the cut outs mean baby's nose and chin are still in contact with your skin. Overall they are easy to use, if a little inconvenient for public breastfeeding (I've started to express and take a bottle out) or feeding in the dark as you need to put them on and see what you're doing, however I imagine this is the same story for all nipple shields! They come in a handy case. I wash mine and sterilise them in Milton a couple of times a day so I bought two pairs to save on too much washing and sterilising. I would say this size will fit most nipples. I bought the small but found them too small and thin for what I consider to be my normal sized nipples! Fyi it's totally normal to have a gap at the end, you're not supposed to fill the whole shield up or else your nipple gets drawn into the two holes at the end and that painful (as I found after incorrectly placing the small size!). We're still using them 3 weeks on. You hear mixed opinions on nipple shields however these have not affected my supply and I personally think it's preferable to stopping breastfeeding which is what I was close to doing (not that there is anything wrong with formula at all, it's all personal preference!).
