Well if you put an headphone, there will be no problem because you are no using the speakers. I use it in that way and it's fine.

Techically it would work, however the output is very low and really designed with an electric guitar in mind. It would colour the sound of the drum kit more than a standard monitor would.

Yes, but you would need an adaptor to convert the small iPod-compatible jack plug to the larger size used by this device. The adaptors are inexpensive.
