I suspect you do not need a Large size and a medium would be nearer your sizing. If too large, you can return for the small size.

What size should I order for a 34 waist I. American sizing?

My opinion would be large. My son is 6'3" with a 34 waist I got him large, his brother is 5'9" 36 waist got him XL. Both fit great on them.

Sizing chart is confusing...46" hips, 42" waist...based on sizing chart my waist wouldn't even fit an xxl, but my hips would fit a large?
