olloclip — CORE LENS SET for iPhone 8/8 Plus & iPhone 7/7 Plus — FISHEYE, SUPER-WIDE and MACRO 15x Premium Glass Lenses

I had an iPhone SE and the OlloClip Macro lens set for it. It was the 14 times magnification lens I used most - its a good balance of magnification but good image quality. The 21 times has very narrow depth of field and images are ok but not as sharp as the 14 times lens.Anyway the iPhone SE OlloClip produces great quality images.When I upgraded to an iPhone 7 Plus I wanted to get the OlloClip Macro lens for that too.I did a comparison between the two lenses and the OlloClip Macro for iPhone 7 produces slightly blurred images.At first I thought I must be doing something wrong - I'd never had a blurred image problem with the iPhone SE OlloClip.I checked my iPhone 7 Plus to see that it was taking sharp images even of things only 12 inches away - working perfectly.I checked I was using the wide angle of the dual cameras - as this is the one the OlloClip is designed for - yup that was set up correct.I made sure the iPhone was focussing in the centre of the image.I used the provided hood that lets you position the lens at exactly the right distance for proper focus.I tried again with a number of different flat surfaces - all slightly blurred - even in the centre of the image which should be sharp.I still have the iPhone SE and OlloClip lens so was able to do a side by side comparison - I've uploaded to this review a crop of the centre of one macro shot I did.It was a photo of a black and white face in a magazine. The image is a crop of the very centre of the image.On the left side is taken from the iPhone SE OlloClip - and the slightly blurred right side is from the OlloClip for iPhone 7. Not sure how it'll come out as Amazon downsizes images so possibly less obvious if it does this.I contacted OlloClip support for help but 4 days later and still no reply!Anyway I really regret buying the OlloClip for iPhone 7 - a complete waste of money.

I'm no professional, just a happy snapper with a couple of kids so for me it takes great photos.As others have said, it is a little hard work to get on and off my iPhone 8 but it's not scratched it, yet.It's also quite a bit larger than the iPhone 6 version that I had (and loved) which makes it less portable and therefore, much less convenient so it doesn't go everywhere with me like that one did.These's also no bag anymore which was a disappointment as this could be used to carry it about as well as clean the lenses and your phone.Still, it does what it's intended to do and does it well.If you carry a bag around with you to stash it in, or don't mind it swinging about attached to a lanyard or a belt clip, you're likely to not mind so much.If however you're a minimalist like me, it's probably going to annoy you too much for it to be standard carry.

The instructions are terrible… As are both the clips that attached to the phone they both broke within a month and I’m just an average person taking average photographs … It is very difficult to align the lens with the clip and iPhone lense… Also it damages your screen even if you have a screen protector over the top !!!!! I’m about to write to them about the poor quality and ask for replacement clips

I have now used this clip and i have to say i am very disappointed with it. I have used all previous versions which have been excellent, this one however is not the quality of the previous version. The older version used to slide on but this version rocks on with difficultly! I also found this left marks on the back of IPhone, which has left me very disappointed. Sadly this has put me off using OlloClip again which is a shame because the previous versions are outstanding quality which excellent picture quality

Way inferior product to olloclip previous versions. I've had iPhone 4, 5S and 6S versions before this iPhone 7 version. They over engineered it in order to have clip on clip off lenses - good - but.. this is bulky, it is very hard to fit onto the iPhone in exact location for optics to be aligned and worst of all, the aberrations toward the periphery of the image are high. This is no where near as good a product as their previous versions. Very dissatisfied.Suggestions: 1. Get your optical design better for less aberrations 2. Have the covers attached so they don't keep getting lost 3. Make it slimmer 4. Make it slot on to the phone in place for good optics without having to fiddle.

Great little gadget. Fits well onto my iPhone 7 and is easy to take on and off.I was suprised by the negative feedback on Amazon, I've used it lots and it's not created any scratches. Yes I take my cover off to use it, but I don't see that as a major issue. It fits fine over the glass protector.Good quality images, although I've yet to get the hang of the Macro lense, you have to be incredibly close to something for it to focus.

Great product of you want to upgrade to a iPhone Pro without the price tag!! Works for the front and rear camera. Picture quality is amazing!!
