Can I have this permanently plugged into my Mac and scan to the Mac all the time or does it always scan to its on board memory?

Doxie is designed to work best as a stand-alone scanner -- therefore, we recommend to scan first, then simply plug it to your computer to export your scans. You can always charge Doxie with the included power adapter and scan at the same time. Richard @ Doxie Customer Care

Is the port to charge/transfer data micro or mini usb? It cannot be seen in the picture and the older models seem to use mini usb.

All Doxie models use mini USB to transmit data. You can also use an SD card or USB flash drive in the back of Doxie Go Plus if you'd like.-- Christy @ Doxie Customer Care

Hi Gavin. Doxie Go SE is an automatic simplex scanner — that is, it physically scans one side of a sheet at a time. It sure can scan multiple documents, but they need to be fed one sheet at a time.
