Is this set flood or spot with the side lights?

As with any Rigid light you can select between a variety of beam patterns for each style light. The side shooters definitely produce a flood, but the beam of the forward facing is determined by selected pattern.

Can you install them upside-down due to motorcycle bracket position? would that affect the light performance?

No Problem mounting them upside down other than the logo will be upside down. Not sure if water will puddle in the wiring harness or not. The lights are awesome for illuminating the road and ditch.
