I like having cold water before bed, and my previous routine was just getting a glass of ice water and sipping on it until I fell asleep. I'd take sips throughout the night and into the morning until... I woke up early one morning and caught one of my cats dipping his paws into my half-finished cup of water!So I ran and bought this lovely carafe set in purple...I put it in the fridge with water and ice to chill during the day, then I put it on the night table before bed. The cup doubles as a lid, so the cold stays in, bugs and curious, thirsty cats stay out.The set is heavy and doesn't feel overly fragile, but the real disappointment is the colour.The glass itself is not really that beautiful shade of purple, it's painted on...and if you put it in the dishwasher, it will flake off and ruin it. I put the set on the top rack of my dishwasher, and it started the peeling process:(I still recommend the set, though, but it will need to be hand washed only.I will repurchase this in clear next time, as the shape of the carafe is hard to clean by hand (narrow neck).

Has a vintage charm. Perfect so bugs don’t get in my night water. Plus it looks so cute on my tiled california mission table.

Pretty color. Has crease seams going down sides. Cup feels cheap like it will break easily.

No idea what I’ve been ingesting. Thought this was green glass. It’s green dye coated glass. Do not buy! May not be safe for drinking!

This is a very nice set seems very sturdy and the color is beautiful and the size is perfect for the bedside table price was reasonable.
