What is the difference between 400watts and580whats

Hi, This refers to how much electricity it uses. Higher the wattage the more powerful the appliance. If the cooker were the same size then the 580 watts would cook faster than the 400 watts - but as the models have a vastly different capacity it will probably not make a great deal of difference,

If you use it to cook ready meals do you just use the cooking times as shown on the cooking instructions for the meal ie 25mins?

I don't use that many ready meals but for the most part the timing seems to be the same. However with all cooking you do need to use a bit of common sense and remember that ready meal instructions themselves are not always correct. e.g. I have been microwaving one frozen fish dish for years now simply because I discovered, that putting it in a conventional oven as recommended, blitzed it to death. I always say to my daughter follow the recipe the first time because if you don't and it goes wrong you will not know what the reason is. One advantage that the microwave has is that because it is so fast you can cook it in small stages checking the result as you go and because of the way it works you.do not loose oven temperature every time you open the door. However for me the Remoska is one of the best inventions of both the 20th and 21st centuries. Good luck and happy cooking

Are the 4L and 2L the same diameter? Will they fit bases from the old style ramoska with the window in it? We have two bases but the top has died.

The Ramoska 4L and 2 L are differnet diameters ,we have both and the bases are not compatable with each other,not sure if a "new " Ramoska is same dimensions as an old one ,looks like we will never find out as ours just keeps on going!Why would you bother to find out as when you buy a Remoska you get the stands any way.

Can anyone let me know some basic terms of the guarantee for the uk? is it really guaranteed "for life"?

Lakeland used to guarantee for life but it is only 3 years now....

Very pleased with the results from cooking the Sunday lunch to ...

We have owned a small Remoska for many years used mainly to do most of the cooking when we go camping. Decided to go with the larger unit for home use as well.Very pleased with the results from cooking the Sunday lunch to baking bread, the small unit has a glass window in the lid so you can keep an eye on the food but it's missing on the new unit, doesn't detract from it's performance but a nice touch lost.

Brilliant cooker

Great product, highly recommended for camping / kitchens with small space. Cooks food brilliantly! Only gave four stars because the box was beaten up/ tired looking/ looked like the product had previously been returned? Therefore, was disappointed with this especially with the price of the product.

I have had my remoska for just over twelve months and the blue coating inside the lid is peeling off and dropping into the food. The remoska itself for cooking is excellent however it hasn't lasted very long for the price I would add that Lakeland has now offered a replacement so I am happy with that

What a disappointment - worked really well ... for one week !!

Great idea but let down by very poor quality nonstick surface that burnt, cracked and peeled within the lid whilst cooking a gammon joint in turn contaminating the meat with the smell and making the Remoska unusable. Such a shame as previous meals cooked in the Remoska were very good. It would seem this type of failure is not uncommon and can be read about when reading reviews for the smaller Remoska ( now discontinued ? ) which I did after the Grand failed. Full refund given by Lakeside who have passed on my comments and photos to their buyers.

I love it. It easily cooks a roast dinner and vegetables four up to four people. I have used it for everything from a roast beef dinner with all trimmings, to a bread and butter pudding, to cooking a plate of oven chips. So cheap on the electric.

Flaking Top

I have the large Remoska, just about two years old. The inside of the top has started to peel very badly and I’m scared to use it. I can’t get a receipt as it was a gift and the receipt was disposed of months ago. So, here I am with a very expensive item that I dare not use.Hold onto your receipts
