Is there a difference in weight between the gray and black straps?

Hi, Thanks for your question! Both of them can reach their maxium weight capacity when extended to around 2M long. Maxium weight of gray strap is 20 pounds; black one is 30 pounds after real test. For Pilates, the weight capacity of gray strap is equal to light springs (include short and long ones). The weight capacity of black strap is equal to heavy long spring. Combine 2 gray springs or 1 gray + 1 black springs, can reach heavy short spring's weight capacity (40 to 50 pounds). You will feel difference within the distance of 1M to 2 M. If the distance of your current exercise is within 1M, combine 2 bands or more bands together would make the differences. The kit can be used perfectly both for regular gym band and pilates exercises! Bivr

I received my kit, but am confused because the bands (light and heavy) are all different lengths. am i supposed to not have a matching pair of each?
