Quite bright
My wife is legally blind and needs a lot of light. This replaced a single bulb fixture above her desk and computer space and is a wonderful improvement.

Possibly the brightest kitchen on earth!
I didn't go for the Edison yellowish lighting. I went with the A35 base (regular) 5000 whatever 14w each bulbs, which I bought at a GREAT price here on Amazon. The electrician who installed my 2 quad receptacles just happened to be doing that work when Amazon delivered this fixture. Imagine that! How did that happen? Anyway, he agreed to install it as part of our negotiation and, had zero difficulty getting it in.We turned it on and he said, "Holy $h^t, Batman!". I agree. WOW! Bright. I mean, it's so bright I see new dirt I have to clean in the kitchen. It's as bright as outside. It's doesn't have to be. I could be normal and put 6w LED in it but, once you have it this bright, for still well under the operating cost of a 100w incandescent? You never go back! The light is FUNKY! I sent a picture to my friends and they all say the same thing. "At first, I was shocked and thought, 'You've lost your mind'. But then, I kinda liked it, and now, I love it and hate you for getting it and I don't have one. Where'd you get it?". That's the way this fixture hits you. I feel sorry for folks if they can't get over the initial shock because it grows on you fast. There's a little more assembly than you might expect. the light arms aren't connected and have to be screwed on carefully, making sure not to over twist the wiring inside. It's aluminum or some cheap metal for the wiring and connectors instead of copper but, so what? It's UE and IEEE certified and all that crap so, it's safe. I LOVE my inexpensive light fixture. I have money remaining to buy another.

I liked the warm brass finish and it seemed like the ...
I ordered this light because it was unique, I liked the warm brass finish and it seemed like the perfect size for my dining room. I also ordered the 60W incandescent Edison bulbs, they are a good choice. These bulbs give a warm, golden glow, which is exactly what I was looking for. They also pair well with the Lutron dimmer I installed along with the new fixture.I knocked off one star because this fixture was a pain in the butt to install. I say that because the mounting screws that are included on the strap are too short! They do not extend all the way through the canopy, (see picture). I had to stop my installation and run out to the store and buy longer screws. I have installed many light fixtures in my day, and run into various issues, but this was unexpected and annoying. When purchasing a brand new light fixture, I would expect the mounting strap to have the correct hardware included. Also, the screws included with the kit were metric size 4, and the store I ran to in order to buy a couple longer screws only sold imperial sizes, so I also had to grab a few nuts since the nuts that came with the fixture were then a tad too small to fit onto the new screws. This issue probably won't apply to you, but just something to be aware of. And the decorative caps didn't fit properly either, so I had to tinker with those too. I like to make sure my light is nice and snug and won't wiggle or fall down, so I am a stickler for a good fit. This added an extra hour onto my install, which should have been about 20-30 minutes.Once the proper mounting screws were obtained, installation was easy. The arms are all collapsed when it comes out of the package, and I didn't have any problem easing them into place and tightening the screws. The Edison bulbs fit fine and the wiring was adequate. One other thing I noticed was that the photos of the light that were featured on the listing were all just photo shopped into a couple interior design photos, kind of silly, but whatever. The scale of those pictures is not accurate, they make the light look larger than it is. I used the dimensions listed to determine if it would fit in my dining room, and it does fit, however, it is a little bit small. I prefer my light fixtures to be as large as the room will handle, this one is a bit smaller than I expected. I will be moving it to my hallway and purchasing a larger light for my dining room. But in the meantime, it is hanging in my dining room, and overall it is a fun and unique light fixture.

Read the reviews...
I, like many on here have installed many lights. This was a joke to put up. It was shipped with the body loose from the mounting area. There was no mention of the set screws. I understand why they are there but at least have instructions that list what is actually needed. Our drywall dips a little below the box so I had to go buy 2 1/2" 8 machine screws to mount the box bracket. The screws shipped with it would not bite in the box despite enough to hold the light from drooping. Once I installed the new screws it was fine.Tips:Kill your breaker if you don't trust the light switchPut the entire light together first on a table and make sure everything is thereBuy screws for your box or test theirs first under load just in case (8 x 2 1/2 is what I needed)Take the bottom screw cap off and the two platesUse your fingers to move the wires around inside the housing when installing the light armsThe light arms should twist all the way in so you cannot see any threadsRotate the pieces with the set screws so they all face upTighten the set screwsMake sure the top bolt and the bottom bolt allow you to put the base plates and base bolt on with enough friction to keep the body from spinningHang the light from the ground screw about mid-way down the ground wire so you can use both handsHook up your AC and groundPush the wires into the boxMake sure you are 90 degrees to the screw holes for the surroundHold the light up with one hand and put one screw in a few turnsDo the same with the otherPush the light up and slowly tighten both screws, a few turns eachPut in your bulbsTurn on the breakerTurn on the lightIt does look nice but for this price point should not need all the fuss.Mine also arrived with a couple small dents in the side of the hanging shroud. I almost asked for a new one but at this point was not worth the hassle. This may have been a returned unit.

REALLY PLEASED
Am really pleased with this light - was a bit on the doubtful side that it might be too large for the bedroom. But once it arrived and was put up (used the Vintage Edison lightbulbs), great stuff, was looking for a vintage look with a modern slant, and I think I've achieved it.

Disappointing
The concept is great - it had the potential to be perfect in my mid-century/modern vibe bedroom.. but.. the assembly/manufacture wasn’t so superb. I received a “lemon”, so I returned it. After paying someone to install it, it was discovered that one of the wires/cords that fits through the black spindle to make that arm of the light fixture work, was completely severed . Obviously didn’t find out until the fixture was mounted and powered on. Very disappointing, and I lost money to the guy that installed it for me, only to have to uninstall, package it up, submit a claim with amazon, and mail it back.

Highly Recommended, Great Product
Great quality and finish, very easy to assemble, arrived fast in mint condition. Looks so good I ordered another one (12 light) for my living room. I put my semi-flush light above dining room table and am happy with the size of it. It sits high to the ceiling (won't bonk your head) and is not overwhelmingly large. I have eight 4-watt bulbs installed in it and is so bright that I put it on a dimmer switch.

Modern / mid century light, really great value.
Great value for the fixture and it's beautiful in person (looks exactly like the photo). It definitely is a showpiece and sets the mood in the room well. The brass paint on mine came scuffed up on one of the arms but it's not a huge issue. I just rotated it towards the ceiling and it's not noticeable. Installation took a while because the included mounting hardware is too short like other reviewers have said. I used a completely different mount with longer screws and it worked. If you are using 60W equivalent bulbs, you definitely need to use a dimmer switch with it because it could be too bright depending on the size of your room.
