It depends on the dye, some use salt, some you have to buy a fixer, you brush on place in a sealed bag or container for 24 hrs then wrince out until water is clear, best to go with what the particular dye manufacturer recommends for best result

Be warned! The product information on Amazon is useless and does not tell you that you need a chemical fixative for these dyes to make them colour fast. It seems the necessary fixative is not available on Amazon either. If you are not going to wash your dyed fabric then these are OK. The fix is available from Colourcraft, but it ain't cheap!
