I bought this as a gift and I'm glad I did! Like others, reading the reviews made this seem like a risky purchase. However, this piece is beautiful. It's the right colour (mine a nice teal as photos show) and a good enough size and weight to hold up A5 books easily;(9.5cmx9cm/half). If I had any complaint it's that the quartz isn't cut directly in half so the pattern doesn't carry over from one half to the other. But apart from that it's just as I hoped and expected from the description.

These were a Christmas present for my daughter who is a Literature student and she loves crystals. Absolutely stunning.

No match in what I ordered and what I got. Was so looking forward to the green pattern. Absolutely disappointed. Even the size is small.

Beautiful to look at and heavy enough for what I wanted them to support, but I would agree with other reviewers that they wouldn't do for tall books or any that were thin but heavy as they would topple over. In terms of appearance and being unusual I couldn't fault them, though do note, they are dyed and not the natural colour of amethyst. Mine weren't cut perfectly square as regards the face adjoining the books, though they still do the job. Despite these few reservations I would recommend them as they are so unusual and very pretty, good value I thought too. A word to about Fossil Gift Shop, they packed them superbly and shipped quickly. Thanks
