Well made with a clean look and no cables
Fits nicely on the side of a Mac lap top computer. I've used it for over a year now and it stays on as I move around with my computer. I have had no problems and I like the clean look, no cables, and tiny footprint on my desk. It is definitely well made.

Updated Connectors don't latch with my 14" M3 Max MacBook Pro. It falls out.
[Update: 25 March 2025] Changed from 2 to 5 stars. Plugable shipped me a replacement unit overnight. The new one works perfectly. Secure fit, reasonable transfer rate on the USB and ethernet connections. Stellar support experience, no hassles, rapid response.[Update: 21 March 2025] Changed from 1 star to 2 because of support responsiveness. The support team responded within an hour to my questions and are shipping a replacement unit. This is likely a manufacturing defect with my particular item.I really wanted to like this unit. It's a nice 5 in 2 expansion unit. But, the male connectors do not firmly latch into the 2 left-side ports on my 14" M3 Max MacBook Pro. The whole thing just falls out. I've contacted support, and we will see if this is a manufacturing defect with my particular unit, or a systemic problem. And I'll update the review accordingly.

This gadget will keep you charged!
This 5 in 1 or rather 5 in 2, gadget does what few others will do. It will allow you to charge your MacBook where every other brand of hub I looked at that offered a similar set up for a 5 in 2 to a 14 in 2 that utilize the left hand ports won't allow you to charge your MacBook while your using them! I mean... hello, McFly, anyone home? Then there are those 8 in 1 to 14 in 1 hubs that rely on a wire leading to any one of your usb-c ports on your Mac. The trouble with that style, for anyone who travels a lot and relies upon that hub, that wire connecting the usb-c port to the hub goes bad fairly quickly.Enter pluggable, and the game changes. The model I received is a 5 in 2. Not a 5 in 1 as described. not even as labeled on its box. But fret not. That's not a knock against this tiny shining beast. Even though it takes up both usb-c ports on the left side of your MacBook it still has a headphone jack in it and more. That and this things is built very, very well. Overall this plugable device offers too much as a bonus to really count anything against it. It's made of quality materials, looks good when attached to my MacBook and rests evenly both with the top and bottom to the keyboard side of the laptop, meaning the display closes with no fear of damaging it, and it rests level on your desk. It doesn't wobble or give either. Once you have it connected it's as if the thing were part of the pre-manufactured whole. It is easy to forget you even have this device plugged into the MacBook and data transfer rates are amazing. I have had no issues what so ever with this device, having relied upon heavily during international travel. It's become my go to and favorite hub for work.

Low price, great quality
I wasn’t expecting this product to look and feel so high quality at the very low price. I got it for my new MacBook Air M4, and it fits perfectly and functions as expected. It is a great product.

... wow- talk about missed it by that much!
Great Device... I get 1.3gbps from my ethernet to my HB7 router. The usb ports seem alright. GREAT IDEA for device. So, ima give it a 3.. because I had to sand about. 2mm of material from the edge to accommodate the fact that I have a case on my MacBook Air M2. I rarely see people using their Aluminum Macs without some type of cover to protect from scratches. (or smudges on the new Macs with color metals.) it's surprising that no one thought... "we should leave at least 3mm gap on off chance they use a case with the MacBooks." Thats really my only complaint... I would have preferred not having to take the black part off... and cut up my finish... I can prolly buff that... I would have been pist if I would not have been to modify that housing. I tried to 3d printed the piece... but I had a hard time with the sizing and alignment and I couldn't get it right. You folks should allow us to 3-print the housing with a shorter cover to allow us to make an alternative. Send me the 3d-file please.-Hen

Useful and fitting for my Macbook Pro 14 Inch
Plugable is a brand I know from their USB hubs and docking stations which I have some of their others. As for my Macbook Pro, I needed a hub for extra ports and ethernet jack. This plugs perfectly to the side of my Macbook Pro and its even better that vs other ones I've tried, this one even leaves space for your Magsafe charger. I do wish for more ports especially USB-C and it doesn't hurt to ad an SD card port but unless a buy a bigger hub and not one that hangs on to the side, thats not likely as there isn't a hub like this with all the ports and also attaches to the laptop thats out there that i've seen. You either get one that has an SD card port or one without an ethernet jack. Overall a good small little hub with the basic ports you need.
