Strong magnets
These magnets are stronger than I thought which is good and look like they will be easy to install. I have not used them yet but think they will be good for my intended project.

Over engineered.
I needed a way of replacing the fastener on an expensive 3 compatment kitchen bin on which the very weird fastener had stopped working. The bin supplier offered no advice or spares but suggested I but an even more expensive replacement. A mag catch naturally came to mind. The problem with thes mag catches was so strong that opening the lid with them fitted made the bin move about. Don’t buy these unless you need a seriously strong mag-catch

3.5Kg version not the 6Kg as advertised
Original packaging from Carlisle Brass states this is SKU FTD850NP which is the 3.5Kg pull version of the catch. If you want the 6Kg version you need SKU FTD840NP.If the lower rating is ok for you then this is a solid product but it is not as advertised.

Okay
Bought some with the same description from ebay but didn't buy enough so had to purchase these also. They don't seem to hold the weight in the description like the ebay ones do. I would say suitable for smaller items, but I will need to replace

Do the job...maybe too well!
If you're looking for a magnet to keep your cupboards closed, you've come to the right place. If you then want to be able to open your cupboard, then maybe not...word of warning: put handles on doors before testing these.Personally have wrapped some very thin fabric over the top to reduce strength. Seem to be of good build quality.

Good quailty, strong enough to stop a kitten
Have used this to stop a thin bifold door opening when pushed by a kitten - Its installed at the base of the door, was very easy to fit and isnt too noticeable. Since fitting the kittens haven't broken into the kitchen again and it also doesn't hinder the opening by us either

Not convince about 6 kg resistance
A magnetic catch is what it is but to describe said item as having the ability to withhold 6 kg resistance is somewhat of an exaggeration given that a toddler of 18 month is able to push the swing doors open. However, it is sturdy and its usefulness is dependent of the purpose one has in mind. I would say it more appropriate for a pantry door, cupboard or cabinet but not for doors where the objective is to stop a toddler barging through. Please note this is my honest opinion and I apologise for any offence that may be caused as a result. Thank you.

Strong. Keep sliding door firmly shut in draft.
Our kitchen sliding door kept opening a few cm in a draft. These magnets kept it firmly shut but make the door hard to open due to their strength. Putting some masking tape over the plate has overcome this.

Perfect for what I needed
Got this to hold a full sized solid wood pantry door closed (swings open). Does what I wanted. Barely feel any resistance when opening the door but it’s only a small magnet for a full size door (thought I’d need a few). No issue with the screws, I drilled pilot holes first

Fairly solid bits, do work fine. Screws they come with a bit weak owing to tiny Phillips heads on. Not as strong as some say (power or grip of magnets) but adequate for keeping a pantry door closed. If you want really strong grip search elsewhere.
