Q: Can this pan be used to make takoyaki?

Yes you should be able to....make sure on flame control as this is not heavy iron , but aluminum with non stick coating so heats up fast

Q: Does this pan have flat bottom ?

It don't have a flat bottom, but sits perfect on a flat bed/ coil stove..

Q: has anyone made idli with this? this looks to be specific for 'Appampatra' which i dont know what it is. Also, first time for me making idlies.

Idli is prepared by allowing the batter to get cooked by steam. This is not used for making Idli. This is for making Paniyaram(Tamil)/ Paddu(Kannada).

We used it to make appams and it was really good quality and build. Can buy this excellent product. Non-stick is good and nothing stuck while making the appams.
