Yes you can it has three settings.1) Sound and lights2) lights only3) No lights no sound Hope this helps

Does it come with a certificate of authenticity?

Yes and its realy good looking when on wall and light up music is very clear had mine nearly three years and only changed batteries twice and keeps time.

Hi Not sure I'm afraid. thought it was plastic till I looked at it again. I really can't say. Sorry.

I also bought it for a gift . Instruction booklet said sound can be turned off,though l cannot remember if that included the tick. BUT, it looks absolutely fabulous. Worth any tick.
