I have recently started a journal and me being me wanted something that's beyond the normal.I find the cover so remarkably well done, especially since it's recycled. It's so interesting to find out how much effort goes into the recycling of the leather. I didn't expect it but it also comes with that amazing smell!on to the journal, it comes with non lined pages that are really nice to write on. I am not sure of the exact details of the paper but for a newbie I find it really nice to write on. The journal is refillable however I am unsure if you can get lined paper which would be nice. I did ask the question and I am awaiting on a response.Closing the journal is a little different than normal there is no locking mechanism to keep it shut but relies on another piece of leather to wrap around and then tuck in on itself. Its a tad unusual and not the most secure... however being that I am also looking for something different I found this a really nice addition as it made it feel like a traditional journal something that would be out of a film back in time.Overall I highly rate this - Not that I know much about this sort of thing however it's so pleasing on the eyes.
