Excellent scale for espresso.
I have not used the timer function, but the weight scale is accurate to .1 gram (tested against known accurate scale). It has a very fast response time when coffee is entering the cup and does not appear to vacillate between reading. The function buttons are quick to respond and the included overlay of instructions for the buttons is excellent and can be removed when/if you desire after gaining familiarity with the functions. It is approximately .8 inches tall which allows me to use larger mugs under the porter-filter. Obviously, this will vary with different espresso machines. It has a manual mode, one for espresso and one for pour over coffee. My previous scale (intentionally unnamed) which is more expensive and is still quite usable, except for being a little tall for larger mugs. This new scale has better response to controls and is overall smaller. It may not work as well for large pour over pots, as it is fairly small and may block viewing of the readout.I highly recommend it. I am amazed with the quality for the price. I do not find a brand name or model identification on the product, so I'm not sure how new customers will find it.

Excellent! But is Bucanim or MiiCafe the original?
The reviews for this are better than for the MiiCafe Nano Pro... which appears to be identical? First, I'll say that my experience with the Bucanim has been perfect. Does everything exactly how I would want!UPDATE: So, the Bucanim Mini 3 appears to be the same as the MiiCafe Nano Pro and the Bucanim Mini 1 appears to be the MiiCafe Nano. The reason the MiiCafe reviews aren't as good appears to be because the are being skewed by the non "pro" version. Whichever you go with, the old version seemed "ok" and had some issues, but the new version seems to be really solid!I am curious whether Bucanim or MiiCafe is the "original manufacturer." It's entirely possible - even probable, I think - that these are produced in the same factory and that one is a rebrand of the other (or that they're both rebrands from an even more generic manufacturer). The MiiCafe Nano (Pro) lists a first listing date on Amazon in July 2023 while Bucanim says August 2023. The description mentions an August refresh, so it's entirely possible that they updated and fixed some of the issues they were having (which is why this is getting better reviews). At the end of the days it's a bit of a head-scratcher for me. But, the scale itself is fantastic. It's fast. It's accurate. It's pretty intuitive for the minimalistic User Interface. It is large enough to hold my coffee cup for aeropress or V60 and it's small enough to fit it and an espresso cup under a Gaggia Classic espresso machine's portafilter (although some may think it's a bit tight, so if it's important to you just check your clearances!). I'm incredibly happy with my purchase and I've bought a second so that I can have one at the office and one at home.Update 2: I have now purchased 4 of these in total. One for my home, one for the office, and two as gifts for family. So, yeah, I'm really enjoying this scale!

Good value
For the most part this scale functions well. It's important to use the cover that comes with it. The device it not tolerant of hot coffee that splashes onto the control panel. I believe it's heat related. The device will turn off or have some other malfunction. The latest was that it appeared to lose calibration but then it was fine an hour later.

Great scale for weighing your shots in real time
Nice heft for such a small scale. Very sturdy and easily fits on my PP600 drip tray for weighing shots. Accurate and good looking at the right price. Why spend more!

Failing scale
I purchased this scale a couple months back and i have been absolutely loving it. For some reason after the third week of owning this scale, the scale started to produce only 'half' measurements. If you take something thats sturdy enough, the scale will measure accurately. However, when you try to scale lighter things it only displays half the real measurement (see pictures of a camera vs the rubber anti slip mat it came with)If you want this for espresso, which was my original use for it, trying to measure 18 gr of coffee it becomes a nightmare because i have to be making half measures for every scale. Unfortunalely im switching back to my old scale for this.If you get one that works, you're goint to love it.Unfortunately, it didnt for me.*EDIT*As soon as i posted my review, the seller got in contact with me offering me solutions for the issue i had. I have to rate them 5 stars for their customer service. I think i only got a bad copy, but i really appreciate the lenghts the seller went to make this right by me. i will be purchasing from them in the future.

Excellent purchase - Career Barista
This scale does everything you need at a fraction of the cost of others. It fits on the drip tray of most at home machines, it is easy to read and use, and the battery last forever! At less than 25% of the cost of an Acaia Lunar, this scale competes with the best of them.
