On a building which needs a strong lock . This suits admirably.

I bought this for a school bike shed but unfortunately was a little too large. Not wanting to spend another fortune, I bought a cheaper lock (£14) from Wickes which I'm sure will do the job.I already own another style of ABUS lock on my shed at home which I'd say is pretty much indestructible which is why I turned to them again for this style (disc lock). While it's heavy and quality of the casing seems very good, I can't help but wonder how strong it really is. If this is a genuine ABUS disc lock then I woudn't chance buying one of the cheaper brands. All in all, it looks the part, I have no doubt of the quality but is it really worth the price? I paid it because the lock would be out in the open elements all year and didn't want the worry of it rusting or seizing up on my son, and this is quoted as being suitable for marine use, can't get much better than that.Anyway, I've kept the lock, it'll come in handy one day ;-)

I use this with a hasp and staple on my shed and from it's shape and construction it's difficult to imagine how you might break it. It's probably easier to smash up the door so from that point of view the lock has done its job!No signs of rust after a year outside and it still works smoothly, would recommend.

Good build quality, easy to operate on garage door. Not as heavy build quality as other Abus locks, but I suppose you get what you pay for

It's a nice lock. I'm not a lock expert so I have no idea how easy it is to break into, but Abus are generally good quality and better than cheap Chinese or American locks in my completely non-expert opinion.
