I enjoyed these reflections. I had never read any books by Marcus Aurelius and was inspired to do so after watching the film, the holdovers. The film misrepresents the book, however, in that it states that God is never mentioned. In fact, it seems to me that God is present all over these pages and mention several times. It reads likethe book of proverbs in some ways. At other times, it feels like Ecclesiastes. This is not a long read, but it is a worthwhile one in my opinion. The emphasis on the virtues as a way of life has always worth further reflection.

The hard cover is very nice. It comes with a silk like bookmark. Unfortunately the pages are very thin so you can see the words in the next pages faintly. It doesn’t impact readability but I’d prefer thicker pages. Otherwise it’s very nice.

Best book I have read on a long time.

The Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius musings still hold incredible insight into life, it's meaning and how to tackle modern problems with old ancient stoic wisdom.Although he was the most powerful person on the planet at the time he was able to avoid the trappings of ego and self-gratification to become one of the most successful leaders of all time. The key to his success is held within his meditations here for the taking.

Pages are so thin that the writings are distracting.Text and images from one page bleed into the next.This was not the collectible book I thought it would be.
