Goblin Slayer Vol. 1 (manga) (GOBLIN SLAYER GN)

Is so hard today to come up with anything original and that's why I gave this 5 stars. There are a number of things in this story which are genuinely original. I mean no-one has a name....that's different - no? We are so used to the hero or often anti-hero being cool. Cute lines and a bad-ass look. But Goblin Slayer really doesn't seem to give a crap about any of that, he just wants to kill goblins. Somehow it makes him seem like a 'real' hero and makes the story sort of ...charming.The art is ok but not great. Like so many manga the translation isn't perfect enough and therefore it can be tough to follow in some sections (the light novels are better and feel more rounded because of it).Its the writing that wins it prizes though. Infrequent but very clever plot twists is one of the areas it excels. Sometimes dark, sometimes almost childish ..its a strange mix, but above all...its different.

Some dismiss this manga due to the issues it brings up and shows, although it shouldn’t be judged because it uses a sensitive topic as the rest of the book has outstanding art which is why I imagine it holds a few quids more price than other manga. And the manga treats you with extras in the back

Really like this good action can be lretty dark with certain scenes so won't be for everyone but still good

I'm new to manga, normally I read fantasy books but I have to say the story is engaging and the art is amazing.It dragged me into world of manga for sure.Loved it.

I've read a few dark fantasy mangas before so I'm not new too dark fantasy with lots of blood and murder. Goblin slayer does it well and paints our character as a simple but interesting one.My main problem the inclusion of sexual violence. The creator seems very very happy too make it clear from the start he puts a lot in it and I just can't agree with it as it's been overused in dark fantasy mangas as an easy shock factor.This is personal opinion and if you're fine with it then give it a shot but personally I doubt I'll be continuing

Love it. Very graphic and portrays an adult horror version of an RPG universe.

Amazing quality manga, bought it as a gift and they were very pleased. Really detailed, brutal but brilliant.
