This works well. I stopped using a wet sponge. Well made. No issues so far.

I actually put a couple heavy washer in the base to hold it in place. I don’t have a dedicated soldering station so I can’t “stick” it down. It does seem to work pretty well…cleans up the excess “junk” from the tip.

I have been using water moistured sponges for cleaning my solder. Usually, I need to prepare water before use, also the temperature of solder tips will decrease significantly after cleaning. This copper cleaner does not have such problem.

I don't have any other like this item to compare it to, but it works just as needed to keep my soldering tips oxidation-free. I do wish it was weighted a bit more to keep it from sliding around. It's really not terrible sliding around, but it's better to clean your soldering tip in a downward-stabbing motion, rather than an outward-stabbing motion

Best soldering iron tip cleaner available.

I bought this because it was inexpensive and I didn't do a bunch of soldering. Now that I have been soldering for a while, I'd say this isn't great. It works, gets you through a pinch, but far from high end. Sticks to gun and tries to come out of the whole.

great replacement for the oft forgotten sponge. Keeps my soldering iron tips clean and tinned perfectly!

Basic but works very well

It does not have a weight to it and so not very stable like most soldering tip cleaners. If you are not a pro who is doing this everyday you will be fine. Steel wool fibers I fine are very flimsy and I find that you have to fluff them often and have to really get in there for the tip to get clean. Overall it's ok for the price and hobbies.

Having used both, I prefer this to the wet sponge for tip cleaning. It does not cause a temperature hit and it certainly is easy to maintain a clean soldering tip.
