please tell the size of the centre hole across +how are you measurng castors, my castors are 10mm aprox on the metal shaft across +50mm wheel2wheel tx

Is the whole base made of aluminium, I had problems with polypropylene braking where the wheels fit

Yes. Solid cast Aluminium. Im 6ft and 18st and had this for about 3 years. still going strong. Will outlast the chair.

Is this chair base " one hundred per cent aluminium" ?

It is certainly an all metal casting which I believe is aluminium. Very pleased with it used it to replace a swivel/reclining chair that had 5 wooden legs. Needed to machine a metal tube to join to chair worked well

What is the diameter of the central hole, please?

Sorry no idea, but fits the standard gas lifter on most chairs. I have used this to replace two different chair bases.
