Are these candies sour through and through? Or just tangy at first then sweet?

just a little tangy...then mostly sweet. Claey's Old Fashioned Hard Candy Wild Cherry - in the paper packet are the best I have found thus far. I prefer the cherry...there are other flavors...and yes, the packaging counts for some unbeknownst reason. Walmart's has them also for maybe a little less, especially if you are going in store. They usually hang near a checkout. If you locate a better candy that holds the tangy flavor, I would appreciate knowing. Thank you

They are lemon drops but they are larger than regular drops

Yes. I do not see any wheat by-products on the list of ingredients.
