This isn't my first of these cups. Last summer I bought one to make frozen lemonade, which was followed by several friends buying their own after tasting it (and asking for my lemonade recipe). I added a second cup so I could make a another drink if I wanted, since you have to wait hours for the gel to freeze before it will work, or I could make two drinks if I had a friend over. I've also given them as gifts and the recipients always loved them. Even my teenage niece who, like most teens, is not impressed by anything.Besides lemonade I've also made delicious coffee slushies using bottled frappuccino drinks and other sweet slushies using store bought juices like peach mango (so good!). I've been meaning to try a fresh squeezed orange juice slushie but it hasn't happened yet.My gripes: The straw/spoon combo isn't great. You can remove the spoon head from the straw which I guess is a nice option to have but since the area inside the cup gets pretty cramped the spoon head will come off if I try to get into the crevices toward the bottom or it will spin around which is just as useless. I'd rather have an attached spoon that's sturdier and use a regular straw if I choose to. It also doesn't make a lot at once. This is because the gel in the walls of the cup take up a lot of room. The design works very well to freeze the liquid, but it doesn't leave a lot of room for liquid. It would be nice to have a larger cup size to make up for that, or at least a second larger size option.But for the most part these are a lot of fun and very easy to use. You do have to plan ahead a little by putting it in the freezer long enough ahead of when you want to use it, but that's it. I usually pour my drink in, let it sit for 3-5 minutes, then come back and squeeze and it saves me some squeezing time since it's already started to freeze while sitting. I also usually scoop the slushie out into a glass so it's easier to eat and I don't have to work at digging into the crevices. Cleaning is easy with most juices but gets a little tougher with milk-based drinks or anything that has fat content that might stick to the sides. A long thin straw cleaner works well to get in the little areas just be gentle so you don't accidentally poke a hole.One tip, get one for everyone in the family. Once you start making these delicious slushies everyone will want some and they're too delicious and too small to share!

My teenage son was excited when this arrived, and asked if he could be the first to use it. It was almost torture for him to have to wait until it froze!We haven't tried it with a non-chilled beverage, but I think it might still work. Once the cup has been frozen for a few hours, you just pour in your cold drink (we've tried it with soda) and start squeezing from all sides. It starts to freeze the soda very quickly, even before you've finished pouring it in! Then you squeeze it repeatedly, and within about 20 seconds you have a slushy!The included dome lid really helps keep the slushy under control while you're squeezing.I have only one disappointment: it's quite small on the inside (see photo) and kind of difficult to get the last bit of slushy out of the bottom. However, after I ate most of my slushy and wanted more, I poured some more chilled soda in and it was still cold enough to freeze it!I can't wait to try it with other beverages, like flavored milk to make a milkshake. We love frozen treats! I might have to buy a few more cups!

This is an interesting contraption. There are bladders filled with freezer gel inside the silicone cup that once frozen become hard. Once you fill it with a liquid, they thaw out enough to be squished to create the movement needed to create the slushie.I used Cherry Coke Zero and it slushed quickly, within a few minutes (and quicker than I thought). I added some more soda and kept slushing. I poured it into an insulated cup, and it lasted a long while. I was able to refill the slushie cup and get another slushie out of it. If you are doing a second slushie session, you'll need to do the same flavor or something similar. If you rinse or wash the cup out between the slushies, the freezing gel will warm up too much and will no longer work as well. The second slushie did take a bit longer than the first one, and it wasn't as icy.The way the cup works, with skinny bladders inside the cup take up most of the inside of the cup. Lots of creases means that it is hard to clean. Using the spoon to pull out the slushie, I was also afraid that I would pop a bladder by poking it with the spoon. The cup also doesn't seem to hold a lot of liquid at one time. You can't fill it all the way up because when you squeeze it, there has to be room for when it is squeezed. When pulling out the slushie, a lot of it gets trapped between the bladders.

I'm so happy I got this thing. My daughter's love slushies and now we can do them at home. It is so simple to use and so simple to clean. Simply put the cup in the freezer for a few hours and let it freeze up. Then take whatever liquid you're using, my kids are Dr pepper freaks so that's what they use more often than not, pour it into the slushie cup and simply squeeze the sides of it and it will freeze right up. Not solid not really a liquid but it is slushed up just enough to be a proper slushie. This thing is very easy to clean. The lid screws on and stays put and the straw/spoon that comes with it is exactly the right length for this particular product. I am going to be ordering at least five more of these simply because my kids will get into a fight if I do not. This slushy maker is absolutely, 100% amazing. I did not think that these things would work since I've seen them on infomercials for several years but I'm here to tell you this particular one does everything that it says it's going to do, without fail
